Number 5 is the best of the lot by FAR.

I'd say possibly the best album ever released in this country in my life time (20 years)

Oh pur-lease. Good on James Blunt for getting number 1, his album is fantastic.

James Blunt is one of a long line of examples as to why there has been so few British acts of any note to break the American charts for a very considerable amount of time.

How are Keane so far. I know that last year they were second to Scissor Sisters but only slightly but surely they haven't sold as much this year. The last single off the album was released in spring but I thought most people would have got the album long before that. I know I did.

EDIT And I own 7 out of the top 10

Is there any particular reason why you didn't credit the source of your list?

Or is it all your own work?

Oh, please! It's a good, solid indie album, but that's all it is.

I agree, its a great album but not the best in the last 20 years, are we forgetting other bands like Oasis, U2, etc

Hmmm, not a bad list. There are a couple of albums up there that I'm sure people will be ashamed of owning in a few years (not naming any names...).

the_charmed_one - could you link your source, please?

It's funny how a number of those weren't even released this year.

I am the proud owner of the 6 in bold.

Good list IMO - It's great that Razorlight are still hanging in there. Up All Night was probably my favourite album of last year.

Oh, I'm not saying they weren't genuine. It's just polite to provide a link so the correct source can be credited.

I'm sure I bought some of them LAST year, though, which means their sales must have been strong for a year, which is great.

Anyone notice that most of the top 25 are by proper bands who write and play their own music?

Good to see so many people have good taste.

the biggest 'flop' seems to be Oasis really..seeing as though the albums been out since around may, its been beaten by green day and keane whos albums came out last year.

Robbie may end up top overall though, look how many hes sold since the end of october! and with a new single out before xmas..he might get past coldplay and blunt.
