Hi, I wonder if you could tell me a little about this serviev please.
Are you using this service? Is the audio good quality even with heavy internet trafic? Did you have to do any special NAT/Firewall config to get it working? Is there a cheaper way to get the ethernet MTA they require..? "VoIP.co.uk Ethernet Multimedia terminal Adatper (MTA)" http://www.voip.co.uk/res_products.html £49.98 is a little costly for me. |

No, not using the service, it's been running for only a couple of days.
Thought I'd let people know about the new entrant. You could use your own ATA, like the PAP2, you will need to email them for details of using your own equipment. £49.98 is not a bad price for the equipment. |

Hiya,
Just saw they have "Optional Freedom pack MTA" which includes the adaptor with a 12 month subscription. £5 per month, and £10 setup charge. Slightly more than I pay for telewest line at £5 per month atm. |

The LINKSYS PAP2 is about 50ish with postage from most and voip.co.uk want 50 for their one.
Or Freedom pack MTA they will give it free if you pay £9.99 then £4.99 a month which = £69.97 total for year. Uk pack is £19.99 year and the £50 for linksys pap2 thats £69.99. I think it would be better to buy the linksys (better unit) and use uk pack (no sub ). but not everyone including me can just pay £50 out like that so the freedom pack would be easier for me.I would also be nice to find out if the Ethernet MTA that voip.co.uk supple can be used on other 'networks' after the contract with voip.co.uk. Does anyone know??? |

Its been 3 days since i signed up to voip.co.uk and i recieved my MTA adaptor today, install was a breeze. It all works fine, the calls are very crisp and alot louder than my bt line.which is good.
Thx BexTech for pointing this out, should save me abit.
