Alex pride's himself on telllimg the truth. So far he has been very quick telling people how he feel's about them. Why do you think he is putting up with Jade annoying him so much.?

They are all putting up with Jade because they know she will go off on one and then hours and hours will go by of tears shouting and comforting Jade.

I'd guess because of the reception he knows he'd get. I'm sure that he doesn't want to be told again that he is a 'batty boy' and that he deserved to be bullied at school. Can't say I blame him...

Alex doesn't want to tell Jade that she's thick, plus it would really kick off and he probably doesn't have the energy.

Complete and utter terror of being subjected to a week-long tirade of abuse, tears and tantrums, I would think.

Jade is still thought of as the "baby" of the house. I think all of the HM's are beginning to realise how unstable she is and don't want to set her off on one (or to be seen by the general public as being a "bad guy")

It was so annoying when he was quite politely talking to Jade about his foreign travels and she seemed keen to soak up a bit of knowledge, yet when she went to fetch a chair he did the 'leave me alone!!' bit to the camera through gritted teeth. Oh how nice Alex.. Too much effort to say 'Jade I'm not in the mood for talking, got a bit of a headache/need space etc'.

Alex didn't need to he got his lacky PJ to do it for him...it's easier that way!
Then when the deed was done he congratulated him, typical.
It's easier to discuss her then to discuss it with her, he is afraid of her going off on one. Which surprises me as he had no qualms about having ago at everyone else. The thing is with Jade she will yell and loudly, where everyone else has either cried and scuttled of into the bedroom or they have been polite and tried to work it out...or in Pjs case he yelled and Alex hid!!!!

I get the impression that Alex is aware of Jade's vunerable state and her "eager to please" attitude towards other HM's so hes not insensitive enough to blow her out, even if its done in a nice way.

Me too. She was really listening to him and very interested in what he was saying. Even got the geography almost right. My guess would have been just about as good as hers.

Maybe he can't be arsed - An honest chat like that with Jade means tears and recrimination. Same reason that Jonny can't be honest with Alex and has to go and beat up the diary room chair.

Kate was all for confronting Jade until BB told her not to in the diary room. Maybe Alex has also been instructed to go easy on Jade by BB?

I don't think he has to tell Kate any thing,she can tell the way he look's at her, how he feel's. He did if my memory serves me right , tell Jonny how he felt.
And also told Adele,how he felt. Do you think she would have let him kiss her like he did, if she thought he didn't like her.

I loved the way Alex and Kate totally blanked Jade when she waddled into the bathroom. It was priceless

He would rather keep it a secret and whisper to Kate and the rest behind Jade's back.
When Jade does it everyone goes mad and slags her inside and outside when she is not there to defend herself... if its Alex, oh its ok then isn't it??? I think it's a conspiracy to get her out, he is obviously plotting to get the others to vote for her which means that the housemates only have 1 vote left so he is less likely to get voted himself... i can't stand the guy!!
Alex is a prick , i don't like him to be honest, in fact i don't like big brother much either because its always the same, i think its wearing a bit thin now, tiresome... C4 should finally lay it to rest after this series is finished!
But Alex, he is someone i would wan't to avoid a confrontation with because he is so self centred it is unbelievable... i'm not a jonny fan either so don't start that up it has nothing to do with that.

How easy is from the distance of this forum to make statements such as he is coward , 2 face and the likes. I guess not very many people will be able to live more than two days with Jade. I for one was feeling sick when hearing her speaking with the baby voice. If something, I admire the fact that they have maintained the calm and I respect the fact that occasionally they feel fed up. Would you keep your calm with Jade, knowing she is not trustworthy, stable and reliable?

I assume you all will understand if they want to avoid her and conflict altogether. Just picture yourself in there.

I think that Alex has been more than fair to Jade. He has said a few things to her face in the past and obviously realises that she doesn't take these things in. He has given her "second chances" after she was very nasty to him over him being bullied at school etc but has obviously now had enough. He choose her to go on the rich side twice (I think because he was aware of how much she suffered on the poor side). Are we really saying that we can blame him if he has now had enough- how many of us would want to confront Jade especially in the emotional state she is in now?

They all try to avoid unecessary conflict with Jade, except P.J. possibly.

Jonny gave her some of his time and talked to her, but they all agree she's a walking time bomb.

Kate did as well, when she was doing Jade's hair, but you could tell there was an atmosphere.

Jade herself said she could feel an atmosphere toward herself.

I think the reason Alex won't tell Jade off is - he's teffified she'll tell the hm's what he and Adele said about them and how much they despise them. I remember Alex and Adele talking in the bedroom (I think it was the night they all had to go to the poor side) Alex looked really worried and said to Adele.....'she heard everything we've said' what shall we do!? Then, they both (at Adele's hints to Alex) started the 'Jade twists everything' she'll stab us in the back. They both got busy being friendly with the hm's they 'disliked'' and started the 'Jade can't be trusted' she's been talking about all of you.
The old ...attack is better than defence, routine. And it worked!
Alex knows he only has to bide his time, he's not going to risk upsetting Jade at this stage. He'll continue to complain about Jade to the hm's but to her face, he'll be charm itself.

Final analysis: his entire goal is to keep her under control and to gain something. Her silence!
