Firstly I'd like say I am feeling very sorry for the girl, she's clealy out of her depth in the house.

She's talking to alex about countrys she would like to go to, I think she knows which way the wind is blowing.

It's all to easy to insult her, poor girl.

She should try East Angular this time of year - Lovely beaches & none of that foreign muck for cuisine.

I watched the Channel 4 show tonight and saw Alex and Kate in the bath.
Jade walks in, and Alex and Kate are talking about their experiences in Japan.
Jade just listened to them for a bit, and walked out again looking bemused.

I may be way off base here, but it seems like her insecurity is all too evident from what you say. Maybe she thinks that all the people in there really are superior to herself, and the only way she feels as though she could be like them is to be as well travelled as them.

I'm not a psychologist, so all I've said is probably rubbish.

Just a guess though.

Was one of the countrys she'd like to visit Japan by any chance?

During the conversation Jade and Alex are having (which is very funny in places!)... a tipsy Alex just mentioned that his ex-girlfriend knows Tim's ex-girlfriend...did anyone else catch that? Mind you, he could be talking about a different Tim.

Interesting that Alex and Jade are chatting, though.

O.K. - I'm going to stick my head over the parapet here and confess to being a Jade convert (couldn't stand her at the start, went off her even more, finally felt sorry for her etc.). I think winstainforth has hit the 'head on the nail' when saying how far Jade has been out of her depth. However,she's actually been listening to people lately and there's a growing realisation that there's a big wide world out there that she's hardly even thought about before, especially when listening to Alex and Kate's experiences abroad. Maybe I'm just naive, but this could be the making of Jade. She seems to be aware now that there's more to life than she thought , and she could be better than she has been. I'd love to see her turn what has been a mostly troubled experience into something worthwhile. I do love a happy ending!

He was talking about his best friend also called Tim

’Fraid so. Jade does what it takes to survive. When the bitching was flowing freely she was right there at the forefront. Now the bitchees are all that’s left and all of her compadres are gone so she’s forced to turn on the waterworks and take off her clothes to curry favour with the ones that are left.

I think he means his best friend Tim. he mentioned yesterday - I think- to Kate, that the 2 girls are going to be moving in together near to his house & that he & Tim are still good friends with them & they all go out together as friends.

To Straker:- I take your point about the bitching but I feel she's even learnt something from that....that it's unacceptable behaviour to a lot of people. I'd certainly take issue with your point about currying favour by taking her clothes off....I don't think that incident did anyone any favours! They all looked rather shocked that she really did it but they should know by now that Jade + alcohol= lack of judgement. Anyhow, I stick to my (naive) belief that people can learn and change......most people are not one-dimensional (except Tim of course!) and spend their lives playing different roles according to who they are with and what stage of life they are at. Caterpillars and butterflies all!
