Yup to reiterate it, Bill and Karen are rapidly becoming the Julian Clary pair of this series, the tragedy is that up to now those pushed off have deserved it (though personally the sooner Fiona Phillips left the better IMHO).

I like Bill and think Karen is fabulous, but staying beyond any welcome is never good. And losing Will (especially after his performance) or possibly even Patsy and Anton would have been an injustice of staggering proportions.

The wrong two couples were in the drop zone and my 'next worse couple' (James and Camilla, to my very unknowledgeable eye) were streets ahead of Bill and Karen and not a long way down the rest. I think it must be time for a concerted effort to relieve Bill's tired limb.

I do agree that this may cause some of the weaker couples to be eliminated earlier so in that sense it's a good idea. However, I also think the "vote for your favourite" is so much more of a positive approach. It stops people "hate voting".

My feeling is that Anton and Patsy started off well together. At the very beginning, we saw on tape that Anton was worried about being partnered with "some common bird", then who did he get? Patsy!! The VT also showed that he wasn't over enamoured with certain things about her like her tattoo and her Cockney accent. But then, their relationship grew over the first few weeks and he was SO encouraging towards her and spent so much time building up her confidence etc. And he was always hugging and kissing her and it was genuine. BUT after she slagged off the judges and started becoming more mouthy, things really started to slip between them, I feel. In their ITT interviews with Claudia, he simply couldn't get a word in edgeways - it was painful to watch because Patsy had become SO irritating. By the week of their Samba (which Anton wasn't really keen on doing anyway!), he truly seemed to have lost his sparkle and he hasn't really been the same with her since. He seems subdued. Their highlight was the Tango, which was superb, but since then, things have declined.

When Patsy's being marked by the judges, she's come to fear their criticisms so much that the only way she can handle it is to pretend she's "not bovvered" and to put on those silly Catherine Tate impersonations! How grating is that for us, let alone the classy Du Beke?? Patsy even revealed last week that Anton pokes her in the back to shut her up but she won't and that shows little regard for him. He doesn't argue back with the judges so why does she? She should imitate him and retain a quiet dignity, but that's not her personality, I guess! Attack is her best form of defence. Anton desperately wants to make the final but I can't see it happening - and neither can he now and that's what's upsetting him, too. I loved Patsy at the start, but she's losing my support now because she is just too mouthy. Oh well, Anton, maybe next year...

I'm Welsh and to me, Anton sounds as cockney as Patsy. What's wrong with an accent anyway?

There's nowt wrong wi' an accent, but on tape Patsy was shown speaking with an upper class accent (for a joke) and Anton said, "Now, why don't you speak like that all the time?" To which she replied, "Cos I ain't bovvered!" It was actually light banter between the two of them and was really funny and lighthearted. Even Brucie makes a thing of her accent by calling her Eliza Doolittle and, quite rightly, Patsy isn't offended by that... And yes, Anton's not posh, but he does make an effort to speak well and he's a bit of a classy geezer, ain't 'e???

Just out of interest, does anyone know how the voting is spread over the week? Are there a significant number of votes cast during the week or are the bulk made up from the Saturday night (X-factor seems to cope with the phone lines being only open for an hour or so on a Saturday night)

(Fame Accademy - the ordinary one - used this method of voting too and it always used to rankle with me even more, 'cos whereas the people on Celeb FA and SDC have careers and it's 'just for fun & charidee' the ordinary FA was about unknows trying to forge a career)

I'm so glad it's not just me .... Patsy is really getting on my nerves now .. I'm sure Anton was trying to get her to shut up on Saturday night and she just kept on and on and on ... I do think that dancing wise Bill should be next to go but he has been a great contestant and I will be sorry to see him go

Indya, you have just summed up my take on the whole Patsy / Anton thing. She said was really upset by what Mark Firth said on ITT, but I think the Heat man was talking sense.

Well said Indya...I've been lurking around this board for weeks now but after last Saturday's judging fiasco, I felt compelled to join in. I really agree with everything you've said - Patsy has been getting more and more irritating by the week and poor Anton can't get a word in edgeways anymore. FWIW, think Darren has made the most progress over the weeks and still amazes me that such a well-built guy can be so light on his tippytoes.

The thing is, the Gorgeous Goughie has to be light on his feet for his 'day job' as a fast bowler - when you think about what he does as a bowler, he needs lightness of feet, co-ordination and balance so really, it's not too surprising at when he gets the hang of what is needed in dancing that he has the base line skills to call on.

You're right Mindyann - hadn't thought of it like that before. He's got to be the most delicious lookin' cricketer I've ever clapped eyes on (and what about those gorgeous little sons of his, all suited and booted and dancing under careful supervision from Len..aaaah)

They always say when announcing who is going to stay that the results are in no particular order. This probably includes the couple in the bottm two that doesn't go home. Therefore the directors probably decide who's turn it is to think they may be going home, when in reality they are doing no such thing. They probably feel it builds the tension up,

Scandalous and genuinely unbelievable I say cheating or what. Anyone upset by Will out or Bill still in should now vote Patsy out of principle if nothing else

Hope youre right about bottom 2 thing and agree about Zoe. Another theory have you noticed a lot of scores seem to reflect the dance ability of the last week its as if it was 1 week behind

If you actually listen to Tess when she announces the couples ....she says the TWO with the lowest scores.

I posted somewhere else that the voting seems to reflect whats gone on the week before because of the cut off point of voting. I think this is how Bill was saved as he still had sympathy from last week. As for Patsy she may be feisty but its not a bad attitude at all shes a nice girl she just likes fun and so what if shes defensive so is James . Regardless of personalities she is more deserving than Bill to stay in and James by dancing standards

I so agree with you, loved the freshness of Patsy at first, but now cringe when she starts "mouthing off". It adds nothing to her appeal, and must infuriate Anton who is a professional dancer who respects the judges comments and is always charming and respectful. We can lose Patsy very easily but hope for a nicer partner for Anton next series.

Yes, Zoe is being hyped. However, Ian knows how that feels from last series, where the boot was on the other foot. At the end of the day its not going to be fair; how can a subjective competition ever be?

Lets just enjoy the entertainment.

Patsy ended up in the bottom 2 because her dancing of the QS was not what it should have been and she said this, this was also the case with the Cha Cha. Therefore it is right that they are in the bottom 2 as much as I like them. I think W and H should not have left when they did and B and K. However if this continues then Patsy will be next to go but I would have said they should have gone before W and H. Anton has a lot to do to turn this around.
