I hope so, if he were played by the same actor too that would be great, though not essential as no one remembers!

They have changed his age around though Amos, it will have to be someone older. I can imagine him being all sweetness and light around Turner but when his back is turned he is an absolute bastard to Steph

I've been wondering this. Has he actually been in it before then? What was he like?

I've had a look on emmerdale.org and he has been in it before. But it says that he's about 7 years younger than Steph. Surely that can't be right? She said she was raped at age of 11 which would have made him only 4?!

Author, it doesn't say what the age gap is between them but they have now changed the ages around to further this storyline

I suppose they don't have a choice, but it really annoys me when they do that.

Why does it annoy you? You never saw the old Terrence

It annoys me too - makes a mockery of the show, by changing history...

No it doesn't. If it means exploring a better and more important character, so be it. Get over it

But soaps are meant to portray realism - changing ages is NOT realistic!

I suppose that is a valid point Mariceff, but retcons (retroactive continuity - changing the past to suit the present) do annoy some viewers, myself included.

they need a reason to why steph is as bad as she is and i suppose if they need to get rid of alan then to bring terrence back then it's a good idea

I wondered: do you think it is actually lies? Because when she first arrived in the village she was after Marlon and yet she wasn't haunted by ghosts then??

Steph, when she first arrived, struck me as someone who would throw herself into sex without thinking about the consequences. I think she slept with Tricia's old boyfriend to prevent any men getting too close to Tricia to hurt her, so in her own warped way she set out to prevent it.

As for Steph telling Alan it wasn't true. sharon marshall said it is true but steph doesnt want to push alan away from her

Ah but does Sharon marshall really know?

I think it IS supposed to be 'true' but the thing with Steph's character is that she is such a good liar, so really - who knows?

I don't mind ret-con to some extent (changing a character's age by a year or so to facilitate a story) but changing it by, what - 10 years? is a bit much. And no I never saw Terrence, but now that I know they're doing it, it's annoying me

I saw Terence, there's a great pic of him in one of the Emmerdale books clutching a pig! I'll have to check out the profile because I didn't realise any age-gap was mentioned given Steph never existed originally and Terence only got remembered recently.

Blimey! Never thought of that! Emmerdale were setting this storyline of abuse up 20 years ago!

LMAO

Into bestiality as well now, is he? The old chap must return and speak up for himself! And explain how he managed to shag Steph aged 4!
