Can someone confirm when the pubic decide who stays and goes?
I read it in many places, but can anyone tell me - 100% - when the public do the trashing and when the judges do not choose who goes. i.e. is it when 5 people are left that the judges get rid of one or when four people left.
Is it last three or four? Any help is much appreciated, and some proof would be great to. |

I think it's when there are only 4 left.

They might still have the judges involved with four acts left. Last year, they may or may not have been intending to have the judges involved at that stage, but since Sharon had turned the show into a farce the previous week by refusing to vote, they didn't risk it.
It might depend on how the voting figures have been. If they are confident that the "correct" person would go on a fully public vote, they might decide that the GBP are worthy of choosing who goes. They definitely wouldn't involve the judges with three acts left, even if we were going to have a two act final (which we're not), because announcing the bottom two would give away who the likely winner was. |

Cheers for all that, so is it that the judges boot someone out when there are four left or five, just so I am 100% certain.
And is there no conformation anywhere about this? |

It was in the last 4 last year that the decision was left to the public and the reason given for this was so as not to make it obvious which two of the remaining three had the most votes and who was trailing in third (which would have made it almost obvious which two were going to be the finalists).
As there are three acts in the final this year, they may bring it back to the last 5 or they may decide that they want to dictate who at least one finalist is going to be and, therefore, not have a public-only decision until the final. |
