I've been generally happy with my unit since I bought it at the end of June. Admitedly it's had its ups and downs with various niggles...no more than what's already been mentioned in the large thread.

Up until recently, it has missed only a couple of recordings. However, more recently it's getting a bit out of hand.

For those who have had little trouble with missed recordings so far, have you noticed an increase in the number of dropped recordings recently?

I seem to have most of the problems trying to record from BBC1 and 2. Ok, so I don't actually record many programmes, but recently it's not recorded 3 episodes of Casualty (all set via EPG) and last night's Top Gear (again, set via EPG). Other programmes such as Grand Designs (C4 and More4 - also set via EPG) and Property Ladder seem to record fine.

In fact, the wife set the unit to record for one of the above episodes of Casualty (I was in the room at the same time and saw her do it correctly) the night before it was due to air. We woke up the next morning and checked that it was set before going on holiday, only to find that there was nothing scheduled to record.

Anyone else having more problems lately?

I have had problems now & again with it not recording programmes,but I cant remember if it was using the epg.I have stopped using epg to record becouse it kept missing the beginning or end or both of the programme.I hope that they resolve the software problems soon.I have had my unit since July & was told all problems would be sorted by August,its now supposed to be 14th December.I am thinking of getting a differant make.

I think my unit was in the process of missing a recording last night.

We set to record a few programmes via the EPG over the weekend. One of those programmes was Property Ladder on More4 last night, between 7 and 8.

I got back from work at about 7.30, half way through the programme, walked into the living room and saw that the unit was in standby, but was making noises as if it was recording.

I switched it on to make sure it was actually recording. I knew something was wrong when "Rec" was flashing on the front panel. I turned on the Direct Navigator to find that the unit had only started recording the programme from the point where I had switched the unit on.

So I missed the first half of the programme. Grrr!

Come on Panasonic. Sort this out!

Mine seems a bit better lately. (Looks for some wood to touch........ )

Except for a pathological dislike for episodes of "Egypt" on BBC1. Did Panasonic program a "critical review" function, do you think?
