Currently, on my P800, I've been having problems with MMS - it'll attempt to send 56% of the picture, and then it'll display 'The request timed out. Unable to open page'.

Any ideas.

Also, I can send e-mails from my domain using smtp.o2, however, I cannot receive them - odd.
Nor can I get Gmail to work, either.

Any ideas,
Cheers.

How big is the picture you are trying to send.

O2 only support upto 100kb.

Re emails - if you're on pay and go that's perfectly normal I'm afraid. However, if you're on contract all I can think is you may need mobile web/mobile data (or whatever its called...) activated on your account if it isn't already...

RE: E-Mailing: I never had a single problem with Orange - I could get my @mydomain and @yahoo... ...is this just an O2 thing?

So, really I get to choose between good O2 deals - no emailing, and yes to emailing, and no Top-up £15, and get this... ...fair enough.

RE: MMSing: they're 640*480 - anything from 58-62Kb.

Cheers,
Alex.

Re emailing - yes, its just an O2 thing. You'll only be able to send and receive via O2's own mail server... Even though, if you ask customer service they'll say you can't even do that lol but you can.

As for Orange, I'm on them myself and merrily download my yahoo mail at will Deal wise - well, depends what you're after, as imho Orange's deal beats O2 these days. Orange do match O2's online deal now i.e the 300 text 1mb data, and Orange's main data bundle is brilliant value...

Email should be sent by o2's SMTP server. Just like on any other network you would use their outgoing server.

You would recieve email using your current server. EG. pop3.plus.net is mine.

You only use o2 pop3 server if you are using an o2.co.o.uk, o2email.co.uk email address.

If you are using the email facility over the wap then this is designed only for access to the o2.co.uk (o2 portal) email.

You can certainly recieve using your own mail server, as I have done it many a time (unless you are referring to pay as you go as I have no idea how their systems work, chances are you carnt use web on PAYG and as such will NOT be able to use your own email accounts expcept o2s own).

Orange will only match published tariff, when you come to disconnect if you are not happy with the prices etc you will be offered a better plan.

Yup - fair enough.

Should I see if GPRS works - as there is 'WAP GPRS' and regular GPRS...

...maybe not - I'm a PAYG-er - so it looks as if it may well be a use O2 only - as I've browsed Sheffield Forum on it - although I can't remember if it was via WAP GPRS or regular GPRS.

Any ideas on the MMS hoo-haa.

Cheers
Alex.

You would be better off using o2 GPRS than WAP GPRS however I am sure other have mentioned on here that o2 don't allow WEB access using PAYG.

If that is the case the chances are that it also will not allow use of pop3 email other than through an o2 email address.
