Got a text message update during the ads saying that Davina announces to the HM's gathered on the sofa that PJ is coming out. He took it on the chin etc.

Slightly confusing since as far as I was aware we were on adverts. I didnt realise the programme we watch isnt live.

Are the housemates being paid? PJ mentioned paying off his debts, & I'm sure I heard jonny mention it in the past.

How much do they get?

£30 per day that they're in there.

A subsistence payment is made to all participants as a contribution to help pay for out-of-pocket expenses (such as rent) while they are in the house. This is a flat fee and is not tied to an individual’s loss of earnings, but is based on jury service payments and is around £30 per day.

I think that there's absolutely nothing sinister or manipulative going on here.

As far as I know, many programs that are transmitted live, have something like a seven minute lag.

This is usually to prevent the transmission of swearing.

I think that it's been like this for about ten years.

BB is a program that has a tendency to sometimes get emotional, so it just looks like they use the virtually live policy.

I don't think there's nothing wrong here, I thought it was common practice.

I really had no idea of this.
As far as I was aware, when we watched Davina telling the HM they had been evicted, it was actually happening at that time.

Obviously those in charge of the website/text message updates assumed we had seen the footage and posted the news!

Whoops!

I never understand why the sky interactive feeds say 'Live' when its 10 mins behind all the time, yet then b4 the evictions it says '10 mins behind'.

why say its live the rest of the time, we know it isnt.

Of course the programme was live - standard eviction messages will have been written for all the contestants and as soon as the result was confirmed internally the message will have been put up

don't read too much into it, it's not that big a deal really. certainly no conspiracy, you cynics you!

I know its not a big deal and I hadnt thought that much about it for a while but since you were talking about 'standard eviction messages' mine wasnt. The text message quite clearly stated the HMs reaction to Davinas announcement while we were on the ad break. How can they have a standard message when they dont know how the HMs will react?

This really amazed me. Earlier Davina had said Kate expected to go and PJ expected to stay. I know the stats of BB history were in his favour but how deluded to expect to win over Kate.

Almost as self-deluded as Tim - if that ispossible.

Did you see him sucking up to PJ and telling him how WONDERFUL he was - a LEGEND etc... like the little kid in the playground sucking up to the popular guy - nausiating.

Yes he said something about not being able to pay off around £15,000 odd (prolly student loan debts and some other personal stuff thrown in for good measure) now that he's being booted out. Don't quote me on that figure, watch the repeat eviction show repeat on Sunday C4 if you want to know the exact amount.

I can't believe how PJ was like "OMG they all cheered when Davina announced my name! Why do the public hate me? What have I done wrong??" Did it not occur to him that the public just wanted Kate to stay in and that's why they cheered, as opposed to them hating him?

Anyway, he's a great bloke not in the least for having the guts to give Jade the full verbial that she's been asking for since day 1!
