Strictly Come Dancing meets Dancing With The Stars!

This is the Christmas special. It'll be fun to see who they put through from the British side.

yes agree and if John O'hurley can take part (He is now in Chicago on Broadway) and Kelly Monaco the actual winner of dancing with the stars (though the public were that outraged her and john danced off again and jon won) our couples even Jill Halfpenny will have a tough task

Thought I read somewhere that Darren B and Jill from last year, the top three from this series and the top two from the american series will take part i- don't think it was my imagination! if that's true it should be really good, if the american pair are as good as you say - I haven't seen them!

I wonder how the voting will work? We won't have much chance against the whole US nation if they like one of theirs best and we like one of ours best!

p.s. anyone know the date of the programme?

I'm looking forward to this as last years Champion of Champions was great.

However, I have just found out that 50% of the total score would come from the judges with the studio audience counting for the other half.
I think this is a VERY BAD move, as I would like to have a say on who should win. This could mean that the show will not be live.

I thoroughly expect our celebs to knock the proverbial out of the yanks. But then I remember the days when UK v US University Challenge had to be stopped cos it got embarrassing for the yanks.

I think the best date is Christmas Eve as it is a Saturday and is a week after the final of this series.

ooh, this could be interesting, we could end up sending the three top couples from this series who aren't necessarily the best dancers!

no time to be sentimental - THINK carefully folks before voting!!!!

dont be so sure we would bet the americans in the recent International finals in London Darren and Ian made the semi finals two american couples made the final and not ONE british couple

Must say the American two are very good but I feel they may be too busy to take part. The Lovely Len was on the US panel and there was a woman choreographer that was more bitchy than Arlene!!!!!!!!!!!!! the other judge there was only three was bruno

There was a thread on this a few days ago...

http://forum.digitalspy.co.uk/board/...d.php?t=300284

Not me being bossy...just that there are lots of comments on there to read too.

I am looking forward to it..but don't like the idea of the judges voting for who wins....

I apologise to for you feeling you had to apologise, not my intention.....I'm not a mod....post what you like.

I'm already supporting John O'Hurley if he comes. His ballroom dancing is amazing.

I was watching the videos that a new Canadian FP had linked to on the ITT thread. I am wowed! They are only of week 1 and 2 but the quality is excellent, am quite scared really amd pretty glad we have Jill and Darren

You should watch the videos - they use the exact same set, same announcer and it's so cool to see Len and Bruno I wish they'd screen them in between UK SCD series... that would be an excellent custard tactic.

Am confused Happyfeet, I'm working my way through the final and the dance-off and throwing in a few others at random!

They're all on that website as far as I can see

I do hope O'Hurley and Monaco take part

Yeah I found it now - I was going through a different part of the site.

I'm going to settle down and watch them all now - the standard is astonishing - it's worrying - we can't lose to the Yanks

We must employ Custard Tactics

All I have to say to you Brits *LOL* is....

"Be careful what you wish for....you might just get it".

Take a very good look at John O'Hurley's quickstep from the series, his and Charlotte's waltz from the dance-off and Jonathan/Rachel's series tango....although I enjoy "Strictly" like anything *GO BILL! *, IF John and Charlotte (he doesn't hit Broadway until mid-January, I believe... ) can be persuaded to throw their hat in the ring, we're all going to need a pretty good dental surgeon....

Because watching the level at which these two can perform will leave plenty of jaws dropping one more time...

Cheers!

Eyes of Fire, did John O'Hurley have any dance coaching or training before he took part?

The champion of champions from the last series Eyesoffire, Jill Halfpenny is now dancing in the West End, so perhaps she might be a contender - their jive got 4, tens

I'm already getting excited at the prospect of custard tactics

Your hunch was correct. According to the Christmas TV guide published in today's Mirror, it will be on at 6.30pm on Christmas Eve.

So Rachel Hunter is confirmed to be dancing with Brendan Cole for the special. And if The Sun is to believed, Jill Halfpenny is out. I'm very surprised, more details should be released soon hopefully
