Sorry, I forgot to mention that we tried all of the various combinations with SCART and/or a regular cable between the recorder and the Sky box. No luck.
At this point, I've given up. GuidePlus isn't worth the frustration. |

Help i'm a moron
Ok, i realise I'm stupid (changed from SKY to NTL!), and now realise to update EPG on my HDRW720 i have to plug in my RF ariel again!
BUT, on set up it doesnt change the f'ing channel on the samsung 2000 box. I gather i dont need an red eye converter, but the only time the STB responds in setup is to try and change to channel 12. This happend on a number of the setup options - bromley / langley pace pace red eye no supplier etc etc . Can some one please help me!!!!! what is the step by step process to enable to 720 to change a samsung 2000 channel. your expertise would be greatly appreciated (I'm only little!) |

I got good old-fashioned 40x24 Eurosport text! So that proves 2 things: 1. My digibox (ancient Pace) passes through teletext (therefore the Guide+ data too as suggested) via SCART 2. You don't need to subscribe to Sky to download the Guide+ data. I even removed the Sky card and it still worked. Chris, Having read your various contributions towards GUIDE+ on the Pioneer DVR530 GUIDEplus issues, I am in a similar sticky situation to others. I cannot receive T/Text at all (SCART/RF) from my Panasonic TU-DSB40 SKY Receiver. I am not a subscriber to Sky (was some years back, since cancelled contract). This leaves the Pioneer without G+ although I do question how G+ can claim compatibility [http://www.europe.guideplus.com/En/h...xtrec_uk.html] when clearly they have not tested each and every connection configuration. I have no terrestrial signal available in my house/area. 1. I can confirm that the G-Link is working and channel changing. 2. I have left the Pioneer on stand-by overnight with the STB switched-on tuned to E/Sport. 3. I have tuned the Pioneer RF channel to pass through any RF. 4. I have set the video O/P mode on the STB back from RGB to PAL, as I had read that the VBI detail is only included via PAL (not sure I trust this?) If you have any further advice, or indeed if anybody else has. I would be most grateful. Also if anybody can point me to a Panasonic TU-DSB40 User Guide to confirm my suspicion that it will not decode analogue T/Text - that would be perfect. Thanks, Nick (v_v_g) |

Have you tried R/F (aerial) out on your digibox?

littlebear:
after resetting your machine to NTL - you will need to recongigure the settings after 1st download, which should include bromley/langley options along with this comes a new Pace digibox which will operate your samsung fine (does mine) |

Thanks everybody. I have now cured the problem. The T/Text decoder insde the STB had clearly losts it way in life. A full power off/on cycle has fixed things. Woke up this morning to a semi-populated GUIDE+ EPG!

It's really irritating me that we can't get this feature to work, I think the whole machine is a bit complicated and not very user friendly. Any advice? |
