Wireless 5.1 Anyone tried it .. thinking of getting one
i've been after a 5.1or 7.1 DVD player \ amp etc for some time.. just have a plain DVD player going into our TV ATM.. don't want cables going al around the room so never bothered to go 5.1.. i've seen a few 5.1 players with wireless read speakers and thought this would be the best place to get peoples thouhts on them
can someone let me know which companies make these how much is the quality any less with wireless than wired any reviews and advice they can offer before purchasing thanks in advance |

The only ones I have looked at were the Sony all-in -one packages. When I saw that the rear "wireless" speakers had to be plugged into each other and the mains supply I went off the idea. the wireless bit is only omitted when it comes to connecting to the amp.

I have no experience of wireless, but to be honest I would be surprised if it was as good as something with wires. I see the attraction and if you really don't want to run wires then I'm sure they are good compromise systems, but for the sake of lifting the carpet and hiding a few wires?

Thinking of getting these, they are battery powered so truly wireless.
"Ideal for surround sound systems - saves the trailing wires!" The site states though that they plug into any device with headphone output, would they work if the headphone plug was cut off and the transmitter connected to the rear speaker outputs of a 5.1 amp? |

Hi, I have the JVC THSW8 as below
JVC THSW8 I have had it a year now after much research and it is great! I bought specifically as I had just laid a wooden floor and didn't fancy pulling it up again! When you first turn it down there is a bit of an irritating whine from the wireless rear speakers as they power up but after a minute or so its all normal. If you want to know anything else, please just ask away! PS you can get it for around £150 now or £230 on ebay - some people !

JVC THSW8 wireless rear speakers
Are the wireless rear speakers in the JVC THSW8 mains operated or battery powered?
