What would you do with the dancers?

I'm sure we could all answer that in many different ways, but this is not that kind of thread.

One of the main premises of this show is taking celebs out of their normal lives and teaching them something new. For the dancers, their lives don't change that much - they are used to competing and to teaching.

So I thought we could make another series where we take the dancers out of their normal environment and make them learn something new. So, what would you do with your favourite dancer?

I don't know why, but I've got this idea about teaching Anton about making wine. I can just see him in a vineyard, somehow. I think making a documentary on the subject would give him his chance to show off how he can interview people, he would obviously have to narrate so we could just listen to his lovely voice telling his story in his humorous way. He'd obviously have to tend his grapes so would need some transport around the vineyard - I thought a bicycle, and it's warm in these grape growing areas, so he'd have to wear shorts............

So the prize for the best entry in this thread is a bottle of Chateau Du Beke 2006

Hehe Brendan used to be/is a builder and a seamstress so we'll have to steer away from those. I think perhaps he should try Faking It as a... nurse.

I see, so Dr Happyfeet can boss him and make him run ragged all day and then ask him out at night............?

HA - I won't be that kind of doctor. I'll be the one that brings in biccies and chocs and offers to make tea more than once in a blue moon and beg for help when I'm lonely and scared on the ward.

But back to Brendan - I think it'd do him good to do something less glamourous and cope with less than grateful people - it'll give him some humility, but now you make me think about it; he will be around a worryingly largen number of young lovelies to steal him away

Sorry, Happyfeet, I didn't mean to doubt your sensitivity as a doctor. I know lots of nurses who would be delighted to have a doctor like you around who appreciates them and treats them well.

You make the point very well about Brendan - I think a job which needs sensitivity and compassion would be a wonderful learning exercise for him.

*hugs libby* I didn't take any offence whatsoever, your post made me giggle more than anything - I know lots of med students who have plans to seduce nurses as soon as they qualify - filthy fellas!

I know a few student nurses who are planing on seducing doctors (particularly HOs and SHOs) - so it's a win/win situation.

As for jobs, I have thought long and hard about this and sadly can't come up with anything interesting (it's been a long day and my brain cells are over taxed). The best I could do is to have Craig and Arlene (I know they're judges, but they are ex-dancers) work in a pet shop and maybe playing with cute, fluffy animals will make them all cute and fluffy too, and they'll be nicers with their comments.

PS. I agree with musicangle's comment - I thought this was going to be whole other type of thread. See, I must have a dirty mind as I was drawn to it.

That's good to hear. Sometimes you don't see that side of him on tv.

Ive had another thought, probably helped by a couple of glasses of wine. It's not exactly a career but I think I'd like Anton to learn how to be a chav. Even though I think he is perfect the way he is now, I would like to see him spend a day being the Anti-Anton.

That would be so funny.

If you go to the BBC SCD website there's a video clip from the first series where they at least got him to wear jeans, as radical a step as that seems for him. Maybe it's perfect disguise - nobody would recognise him if he dresses casually in his private life

I think I'd quite like to see Ian learning to surf if he doesn't already - I think it would suit him.

Perhaps we could put Brendan on to learning to ice dance.

Ideas coming thick and fast now..............wine definitely helps, and on a Tuesday, too, disgraceful.

I'm being a bit thick and can't find it. (The clip, not the website)

It's well hidden. Go to the website. Click on series 1, then contestants, then Lesley and Anton. At the bottom of their list click on archive and about half way down there's a video called Denim Du Beke.

I was thinking about this thread and have a different slant to put on the question if anyone wants to have a go at answering.

If you could choose one of the dancers to spend a day in your life what aspects would you want them to try out?

Mine would be that I would like Anton to join me and my mates out for a drink because I think he would be a good laugh and good company and also I wonder what he'd be like after a few drinks.

I would also like him to come and work on the ward with me as a student nurse (kind of like Happyfeet's suggestion for Brendan) because I think he'd cheer the patients up.

Yes it goes without saying I would want Brendan to come work on the wards, but I guess if itwas a day in my life then that would be as a med student, so he can be ritually humiliated by consultants, have sessions cancelled at the last minute, work stupid hours for no pay with barely any holiday, take crzily difficult exams, umm and do lots of horrible things like rectal examinations and inserting catheters. Actually, going back to when I was a first year, I 'd quite like to see him do human dissection

I do like what I do - honest

Thought I couldnt think of anything then had a vision of Anton on a supermarket counter with crowds all about laughing as he entertained them instead of working.

As for the other question, no idea, must go and think about that one
