Perhaps the Goodys didn't mind. I did hear Jade say they didn't take the day trips because they were too expensive. So a couple of hundred or so for all-inc. is not really that much in the grand scheme of things.

Fair point, but its still more than the Sausages can afford after paying council tax, gas bills etc.

If BB was about giving money to deserving (rather than demanding) causes they should have gone out recruiting amongst the "Big Issue" sellers. There are some really amusing chaps/chapesses out there who would be in far more need of the money without having to excuse every other obnoxious aspect of thier character.

If a court order has been issued then details would probably be available to the public.

as i have been employed as a council tax advisor in my recent past (i'm not proud), I can confirm that only 1 person in England and Wales has ever gone to jail because of Ctax evasion.

The reason why her arrears are only £300 are due to the tax payer subsidies that the Goody household enjoy.

If she doesn't pay then she could go to jail.
Non-payment of council tax is the only debt that you CAN be sent to jail for, though jail is a last resort when all else fails

OK if they do issue the summons she gets the chance to make an arrangment and she might end up with a CCJ - she may already have one/two/three already.

Even at the lowest point of travel to the Dom.Rep the cheapest teletext type deal u could get would be around £500 before insurance etc. and then some spending money (yes u do need a little for AI holidays!).

But even disregarding this, the money she said she earned plus all her regular pedicures, manicures, clothes etc doesnt exactly make her a pauper.

What a dysfunctional family - i cant quite make out the relationship of the brother to Jade as the Sun said he was adopted and had real parents.

More to the point the summons would need to be re-served AFTER she comes out since she's not received it nor had the opportunity to respond to it.

No, just another incremental piece of info which fleshes out her character outside the environs of the BB house.

Well all HM's get £200 a week for being in the house. So even if she doesn't win the 70k then for the 7 weeks she has been in that £1400. Which should pay of her debts anyway.

I don't really agree. Just because someone earns XXXK a month doesn't mean to say they pay their bills.

I find it hard to believe that she'll be sent to jail over £363. My partner and I owe £902 in back council tax, mostly due to a mix-up in our Council Tax Benefit when my partner was earning a low enough wage to qualify, and we moved 6 times in 4 years. Since we've been in the same place for 2 years now, it's caught up with us, and we pay £85 per month. This goes back 4 years, some owing on each place we lived, and the council has never threatened to put us inside.

If Jade earns a good wage in Covent Garden, she'll be able to make an arrangement to pay, especially as the debt won't go up because she lives with her mum.

I just think this is another "feel sorry for Jade" ploy, something to do with Channel 4.

So she owes £363 council tax.
ALL the HMs left in the house now can make THOUSANDS when they get out. What with guest appearances, newspaper/magazine interviews etc. etc.
Some of them will even make more than the 70k prize money.
£363 will not be a problem for her when she gets out.
