I do personally feel that the moderation of the board (particularly with regard to closing threads) has become just a teensy bit, shall we say, zealous - which is the reason why I very rarely post here now.

You're not alone, I agreed with every word that you said(or typed). As I posted earlier (page 2 I think), I owe a lot more Council Tax than Jade, and people implying that it's a heinous crime don't usually understand the reasons behind the debt - it's a lot more complex than they might think. People shouldn't make assumptions, just be glad they have so far avoided the debt trap. Good on them, just don't attack people who've made that mistake, for whatever reason.

I too owed a lot more poll tax than Jade owes Council Tax, and for a lot longer. And jail wasn't even close.

Really it's just another day, another piece of ball-crap in the Sun.

***yawn*** loads more people wilfully ignoring the point. The fact she’s a tax/rent dodger isn’t the point in and of itself. It’s just one more dodgy thing, another black mark against her character.

Although for some people it’s just one more thing to make an excuse for on her behalf.

I wasn't making excuses for her. I still don't like her, but on this point, I can empathise. She's not necessarily a "tax dodger", that statement implies that she deliberately avoided paying her tax, and you can't say that for certain because you don't know the full story. I'm not saying that she isn't a tax dodger, just that we don't know why she has the debt. I owe loads of Council Tax, and it's mainly through personal circumstances not under my control. Jade may have be in a similar situation.

I must say that I have been deeply disturbed by the so-called exclusives in the Sun, etc. The story about her long lost brother also started life in the Sun as well as the Council Tax story. I for one know that the story about the long lost brother who has not been in contact with Jade/Jade's mum for years is total rubbish, as I saw Brett with his mum last Wednesday, when she was dropping him off to the airport to go abroad. I've also seen and spoke to Brett on several occasions since 1996 when they first got in contact with each other. If I know that the this story is a lie, how can credance be given to either story.

Personally I don't give much credence to anything that is written in the Sun. They pride themselves on this sort of muck raking, it's no wonder they often have to sell it for 10p.
