I'm not sure but I think they do eventually, just not following the kiss.

They are a good couple though.

Maybe not. Emmerdale is so full of homophobes it must make things very difficult.

Well Ivan's not gay, he's bisexual, so they'll probably have fun with him going from man to woman before they tie him to one person as a couple!

True, and my money's on a Paul/Ivan/Nicola thing going on.

It's a bit gross, isn't it?

Apparently Paul is all "confused" about the fact that Ivan is Bi . What's to be confused about? If he's gonna be wierd about it, that's just as bad as homophobia! You'd think HE'D know better!

But as for them becoming a couple, I just don't buy that Paul would go for him somehow. I think he'd prefer someone all suave to come and sweep him off his feet! Someone a bit like the doctor, maybe ?

Yes gay men aren’t always excepting of us bisexual men and yes it is a bit similar to homophobia.

As for Ivan and Paul’s compatibility – I just don’t see them as a couple either.

I don’t think that’s the case anymore, a few people were prejudice about Zoe (mainly because she’s a Tate and not necessarily because she’s a lesbian e.g. Viv) and Paul (e.g. Cain and Rodney).
But when Jason Kirk was living in the village most of the Dingles (him and Lisa were good mates) and Edna came to except him.

There are a LOT of gays (and probably people in general) who seem to think being bisexual "isn't real" and that they really prefer one or the other, they just don't realize it yet.

Yes, that’s exactly it and then they think their comments are justified because we normally end up with men in the end.

I generally go through periods of fancying men and/or then fancying women.
But on two occasions, I have had sexual relationships with men and women at the same time or in quick succession and it did get a bit too confusing and much for me.

I’m sexually hedonistic , so it works for me – but not everyone is the same.

Bisexual town is just a short stop to homoville in my opinion.

In my experience there is no point in going out with a Bisexual man because there will always be something you can't offer him.

Don't get me started! I could easily go on a huge rant about this ( I often do), but, as this is Soap & Drama not General Discusion, I wont. But statistics do show that, most likely, the vast majoraty of people are bisexual but choose to deny this (even to themselves) as society deems it unexceptable.......yadda, yadda, yadda (rant ensues)....... Sorry, I do tend to take these things quite personally!

This is true and the Kinsey scale proves it. (If you have no idea what the Kinsey scale is watch the film Kinsey with Liam Neeson I think)

EVERYONE is essentially Bisexual, society is more accepting of women experimenting with their sexuality basically because, like it or not, we still live in a patriarchal society where men rule and women getting off with women is titilating for them.

Men won't admit to there bisexual feelings because it is seen as a bad thing and unmasculine.

However, I will reiterate that if someone is openly bisexual, although they are good for the odd fumble and night of passion, essentially you don't want to get into a relationship with one because there will always be something you can't offer them, unless you are into having an open relationship, in which case, it doesn't matter.

In terms of Soap (this is why we are here after all) it will be interesting to see how they deal with a bisexual character, and how he deals with his feelings for both a male and female love interest. Maybe Emmerdale will take the bold step and introduce the first 'menage a trois'. That should ruffle a few feathers in the dales

When the Doc first arrived I was convinced he was going to be Paul's new boyfriend and I was appauled when he took up with Steph. Then the new Vet arrived, yep I thought, this must be Pauls new boyfriend....but nothing happened. But the Ivan thing took me completely by surprise! The storyline possibilities of the experienced guy with the "just coming out" guy coming together are good though. I just hope the script writers know what they are doing and do not come from the Coronation Street school of homo script writing!

I'm just saying what a lot of gay men think That's a definite fact imo. I can't offer proof of this of course, but I'm pretty certain. It's not true of everyone - just a BIG proportion of them. So regardless of statistics and scales and whatever else, those views exist.

The writers haven't been that clear on Paul's views on bisexuals anyway, we need more "in depth" conversations from them both

LOL! I always thought Paul's eyes were very like Val's, even though Val is horrendously ugly
