Tonight's task:

One housemate will be allowed a phone call to a loved one after tonight's task.

The five survivors will be tested on how much they know about each other.

The number of correct answers will decide how much time the winner can spend on the phone.

The result will also dictate how much money they have to spend on provisions this week.

The housemates will be called to the diary room in turn and asked a question about one of their fellow contestants.

After three questions each, they must decide among themselves who they feel most deserves a phone call to a family member or friend.

Each correct answer earns the group £20 to spend on shopping and an extra five seconds of phone time.

They'll probably let Jade use the phone.

answering questions about each other, WOW that's original!

They'll probably let Jonny have take the call, as he keeps going on about his family all the time. Unless they draw straws again. I'm wondering if we'll be able to hear the phone call or not. As if we can't hear it, family members could be passing on tips to the HM on the phone regarding others HM's.

Sounds like another waste of time task to me.

Don't forget the task has got to fit in 30 mins.

I'm not sure that I would want a phone call. It would make things harder not easier. What would happen if they all refused to make / take the call.

yeah but didn't they do this as a mini-task with Tim when he got to take someone on the rich for a few hours? Surely they can come up with something different to fit in (less than) 30 mins.

It feels like this task is all geared up for Jonny to get the call anyway. He's going on about his family all the time, that they'll probably feel obliged to let him have the call.

I don't know why there should be the need for a call from home, as they'll all be out in 2 weeks.

I hope they don't pick Jonny. He'll just spend the time obliquely grilling "ma famlee" about how he's being portrayed and tactical stuff. Jade's phone call would probably be the most entertaining.

Yes, the task team of BB3 appeared to have sunk to new depths with this task, if the rumours are to be believed. Oooo a really tough task this one.. and SUCH an interesting outcome..yawn.

I thought last weeks task was bad enough but maybe, just maybe, this weeks non-event will even trump that one.

Call this task entertainment? A f***ing phone call? Do me a favour I thought they played the emotional blackmail card last week. Oh please no more tears..

Isn't this task going against big brothers own rules??

NO CONTACT WITH THE OUTSIDE WORLD...... Big Brother has always been consistent with this rule over 2 (and 3/4) series.. they try and stop balls coming over the fence, planes flying over, people shouting over the walls... they even provide out of date magazines in the shopping (as we discovered the other week)!!!

and questions on each other, I havent seen that before!! It all seems a bit lame again....

I agree with the last two posts.

Maybe BB are at their collective wits end with the bunch of shallow gits they've ended up with. I didn't see BB1 or BB2 so I can't compare. Were the other HMs in those BB's as devoid of character, charisma or interest as this lot???

Alex has a bit of character.
Kate has a nice smile and bum
Jonny probably appeals to certain women
Jade - well nuff said
Tim - not worth a DIY

yeah too right, it contradicts everything that BB is supposed to be about, this series is a sham.

they're answering questions on each other? please! how many times have we seen this before? how much are these people being paid?

and like everyone else...i can't understand why they are allowed contact with the outside world. it's patently against the big brother rules!

rubbish!

The only interesting aspect to this task, will be the 20 quid a question. At the moment, Jonny. Jade and Kate are discussing next weeks shopping bill, and they're moaning that they didn't get enough food to last the week. So, I take it, if it's 20 quid a question, that'll be 15 questions in total, and the most they can earn will be 300 quid if they get every one right.

I hope they don't earn too much money, then they can't buy so much booze. Jonny was saying last night that he wants to get drunk, play party games and get childish next week. Nothing new there then Jonny!

MGOM - If I remember rightly from the first 2, it always tails off towards the end. The HM's tend to sleep more to get through the days. The main difference between this and previous BB's is the fact that they had the main weekly task to work on in order to keep folk watching and stimulate their minds as well. About this time last year, they had the kiddies school yard task to practise for, they had to learn to hula hoop, pogo stick and double dutch skipping. This task provided many an amusing moment or two, for them and us. Who'll ever forget Helen with the pogo stick. This lot haven't had a really serious task at all, and that's not really helped them.

I had a much better idea than theone the producers have comeup with. When it was rumoured that tonight's task would result in a phone call for one of the HMs I thought they might play it like this:
1) Select one person to make a call to a person of their choice(as in last week's task - the group decide who makes the call).
2) That person gets the phone call and the right to select a second HM to be put forward with them for eviction this week.

That way, Tim, who has whinged on about his girlfriend , would have had to volunteer to make the call and would then have had to select Jade if he had any hope at all of winning the eviction vote. Or Jonny, who is likewise suffering massively at the separation from his family could have volunteered himself.

The actual task as posted sounds dull

Unfortunately this years HM's haven't got many brain cells between them which is why I think the tasks were easier. I don't know why they keep complaining about not getting enough money to spend on food how many families in the UK are lucky enough to get £400 a week to spend. Last years and the previous years didn't get half as much, I think one week they only had £40 to spend.

The 1st was a food competition and gave them the chance to win their weekly shopping. They were called out into the backyard and were greeted by 3 trees and lots of food setup on table.

They were told to pair off boy/girl so there were 6 pairs. The were 3 trees set up in the yard. Each tree had 2 nests.
Each HM had 90 secs to fill their own shopping bag with as much groceries as they could fit in and they had to climb into a nest along with their partner before the time ran out.

They managed to complete the task and so were allowed to keep all the stuff they carried up into the nests but then came the twist. They were told to stay where they were. The last couple to remaining in their nest would win a multiplying cash prize of $3000 to share for each week they remained in the house. The rules were no toilet breaks, no sleeping, no standing up and no feet or legs or shopping bags hanging out of the nest.

Pic 2 (The Winners)

The last ones out were in the nest for a touch over 4hrs 30mins!!!

Wow they took a while, i may post the luxury challenge later if anyone wants me to. It involved the gaining access to the hot tub

The luxury challenge was fun. I wish C4 would do something like that to guarantee nudity. It's a shame US tv is so tame.

The contestants in the USA look a lot older than our's. Was the USA version better than ours?
