Transferring PAYG numbers

I have a Vodaphone PAYG number .. I now wish to move to O2 PAYG.. is it possible to keep my older number from vodaphone ?

Yes, this is possible and the reason why number portability was introduced.

Just call Vodafone and ask for a PAC, then quote this PAC to O2. Within a few days your number will transfer.

beware though - if you change vodafone to o2, and you make a call to an o2 phone (and vice versa) you'll be charged as if it was to a different network. Another way for mobile companies to make money.

True. Only O2 actually do that though... they were on Watchdog about it ages ago

Its due to system discrepancies that sometimes it happens you just need to call cust care and they will fix it asap
