Thompson Won't Update

I reset my 4k the other week whilst having problems getting all 120gb showing on the new HDD.

I still haven't had an update to take me back to 1.77! I miss the extra features it had.

I'm also begining to struggle to get a stable picture on ITV and Channel4, although the EPG works fine for all channels.

Could the problem with ITV/Channel4 be related to my lack of update??

I guess you are getting MuxD OK - if not then you'd have no EPG and there'd be no chance of ever getting 1.7.7

You can check MuxD by making sure either UK Bright Ideas or FTN are visible.

I think I get FTN ok.
Never watch it though.
Don't get Uk Bright Ideas however. Is that available to non TUTV customers?

UK Bright Ideas and FTN share the same slot in MuxD so one broadcasts during the day and one at night. Other MuxD channels include the two (non TUTV) music channels "The Hits" and "TMF". If you don't get those you haven't got MuxD and hence your problems.

However if you do get FTN then maybe your MuxD reception is OK - but then again maybe it's "borderline" and a bit too "noisy" to get EPG/code at 3am ?

you mentioned you are waiting to get 'back' to 1.7.7. If this is the case it will not automatically update you need to restore previous software again, pull plug for 2 minutes then power up again.

if this isn't the case ignore me

I did a restore previously, and this is what took me back down to 0.3

Yeah, but restore doesn't take you to the original software, it takes you to the previous software version. Your box already has both 0.31 & 1.7.7 loaded onto it, it's just you switched it from 1.7.7 to 0.31 by doing a restore once. If you do the procedure again as the guy above said, it'll take you back to 1.7.7. Note the bit about unplugging for 2 minutes though - seems to be needed to go up to 1.7.7 but not to go back to 0.31 ...
