Apart from the rhyming names does anyone else just not buy this?

The age difference kinda didn't sit right at the start but then again tons of young-ish girls date older boys so I guess it's kinda realistic.

I just dont believe the relationship, did it happen all of a sudden, do they seem compleatly mismatched...I can't put my finger on it...

Anyone else the same?

Yeah, I know how you feel. They've never flirted or exchanged looks before, it was just sprung upon us. Theres something about those two that just makes me cringe.

Kinda like the Ruby character - might be cause shes got some looks but I have never been to keen on the other one, like when EE see a trend and jump on it....like all that bling bling stuff they put on him....young black gangster - origional!

I don't know... when I first heard of this storyline I was a bit doubtful, but for some strange reason they seem to work well together.

But then I've always had a soft spot for Ruby, I think EE has struck gold with her friendship with Stacey.

I'm inclined to agree- the age difference. The fact that she's hot whilst he's got a face like a boot. The fact that they've only known each other for a week and they're already acting like they're in love. The list goes on.

I think i'ts unrealistic because they're both like 'we wanna be together!' and they've been seeing each other like a week. Its just stupid really, i doubt that would really happen!

I agree. I just REALLY couldn't imagine them together in real life. He's so ugly. She can do much better for herself.

lol (im black, so dont take this offensively but)

i think you guys are feeling the "a black guy dating a white girl" jus doesnt seem right? right?

coz it rarely happens in soaps, especially with the younger kids Ruby's age and the relationships never work out, you guys are just waiting until it breaks up now.

Wrong. I still regard Juley as a drug dealer and criminal.

I don't buy it either. I think Ruby is the sort that would "go for" someone "suitable" instinctively, someone a bit "boy-band" perhaps...because of her Dad, and her eagerness to please in general. The Juley thing is pure rebellion, has nothing to do with Juley and EVERYTHING to do with Dad and their recent upsets

I think the producers dodged a bullet making it Juley because Johnie Allen can legitamtely have grievances with his drug dealing past and not address the real issue at the crux of the matter. Now if they made it clean living Gus, that would have been interesting, although I guess the cleaner aspect would come into it

I think you all know what I'm talking about, I've said it before

p.s

I partly agree with blade on his assumptions but have a slight issue with a point

I'm happy for interacial relationships to be on the TV, afetr all it happens in real life, something like a 1/3rd of british born caribeans have a white parent I remember seeing somehwere( but then, cant trust statistics)

My issue stems that in these soaps, race issues are just not addressed. I'm sorry but I brought home a white woman to my parents, they would have plenty to say to me

Likewise, if a white girlfreind brought me home to her parents, they probabaly have something to say about it as well

I dont think either stance is racist but to pretend to be colourblind is just not real. Race matters and if your gonna put interacial relationships on TV, follow thorough with the initail awkwardness that would be displayed with both families

Johnny Allen would have a problem with whoever Ruby was dating. The man has issues.

I like Juley and Ruby together. There's only a 6 year age gap (I dated someone six years older when I was 19 - it lasted a year, no real issues apart from we drifted apart).

The mixed ethnicity is hardly likely to be an issue - Johnny Allen may be racist, that hasn't been established, but Juley has no contact with his parents, does he? Yeah, they'd get flack from people who can't keep their nose out, but in this day and age there aren't the same issues of shock and horror that there were 30/40 years ago. Not in London anyway.

I couldnt agree more. Remember this is the east end of london where there is in real life racist tentions. Having lived in inner city london all my life iv seen and experienced both sides to this coin.
They is no community spirit like there was 20 or 30 years ago when i was growing up. And you just dont know your neighbours any more.EE is still based on the neighbour hood when it first started. Times have changed but EE hasnt on a ethnic level.
But hey its a soap and il take it as its meant to be a little bit of light entertainment. Its not real to life and never will be. Tell me where in London or in the Uk has that many people died being knocked over by a car. That place must be the worst road to croos in the country.
But i still love it.

It's not the race thing as I don't think "look wrong together" I just don't buy the relationship....

I think everyone else hit it on the head in that they have suddenly become bessoted over eachother, like EE realised they had a hole to fill an chucked it in last min.

They should have led up to it over a few weeks...

Just to quick I think
