The thing I like about Prince is, like other great artists he is not afraid to change and take risks Purple Rain was his breakthrough album and is one of the greatest rock albums ever made yet his next album (around the world) was completely different and very psychedelic and the next (parade)different again it was total funk.Yet the person he is most compared to- the highly overrated Michael Jackson still continues with the same old dance steps and bollock clutching he has practiced for the last 20 odd years.
Other artists who are adept at reinventing themselves are Madonna and U2 but artists that churn out the exact same stuff every other year sticking to the same tired old formula are the likes of Meatloaf and Oasis. |
