I guess some of the cast are more 'cheap' when it comes to wages and more likely to stick around for a while but it's not good for the show and it's consistency IMO. The number of viewers that will accept and just change their mind and find anything a believable 'developement' in character is probably big enough for it to work (if looking to different demographic of viewers). It's almost (unfortunately) done on a regular basis these days when they go for storylinebased changes in characters.

If I had Juley growing on me I'd have him surgically removed straight away ”

LMAO.

Great post, Lena. Covers pretty much everything I meant.

I'm fed-up of characters changing simply to accomodate a plot - they've ruined Johnny Allen's character to do this and it's so annoying. (Those scenes with Johnny crying in the square when Ruby left home were a major embarassment and made me cringe.)

Thank you DenWatts!!! I cringe almost every episode I watch!!! I almost get the feeling the actor playing Johnny Allen is punished for something (leaving perhaps).

Remember my 'predictions' on Sharon/Dennis some time ago?; I rest my case (writers/producer sucking up to the little girlies one last time, aaaawww , before the grand finale. /Lena

They're doing a good job on the character-assassination of Johnny Allen, and no mistake. <shakes head sadly>

Don't you just know that Shazza and Dennis are going to have a few very loved-up weeks before things start getting nasty?

I think you are spot on Lena.

They are manipulating the, let's say, younger, more easily led, audience to make Juley more popular and Johnny more unpopular by completely changing their personalities.

It's a shame with Johnny Allen and a waste of an actor!!! He had such a potential when he came on both as a character and a male character after all the not so good examples, all the trees and clowns we have already had to put up with ...... but they just had to go ruining him completely of course .

(Shannis girls, of all ages and gender , are in tears and devastated so there is no option for the writers really..... what did I say !!! They're so traumatised so one fear they'll be scarred for life. Three boards I have seen has been 'hijacked' so far and then the official Shannis-board is not included )

Oh my god where did you read that from MyAngel???

I like the storyline at the minute with Juley and Ruby together but her getting pregnant at only 17 years old is just wrong. Eastenders should just keep them together in a relationship instead of bringing a kid into the relationship. Its far, far too early for kids when they only just started dating eachother.

The whole Ruby/Juley storyline is good, I thought it would be a load of rubbish.

Juley 27 and working in a cafe on minimum wage (if Ian pays that) would any father see him as a suitable prospect for their daughter?

I hated him the first time round but now he's associating himself with other characters and not involved in dodgy business I am warming to him a lot!

There looks to be a bigger age difference than the 10 years they claim

She looks about 14 and he looks 30

To be honest, I thought Juley was 23/24 at the most.
