THE OFFICIAL We Hate Johnny Allen Thread (SPOLIERS)
Wick_ed
25-11-2005
Why?
* He has bullied all his life and threatened others.
* He treats women like pieces of meat.
* Hes a murderer.
* He goes on about the decline of society when he goes round slamming peoples fingers in doors.
* He was a pimp, preying on the vulnerable.
* He holds back Ruby.

BUT the reason as to why I hate him the most is because he is about to murder a beautiful creature. Poor Dennis, he's finally happy with his wife and new place, and they are going to be parents, only for Johnny to murder him.

The b******.

Well Grants coming back to wipe a smile off his face

When Phil came back on his own this year - in April. I loved the way he said to Billy about him..

'There is not room for two of us.' Well Johnny - get packing!

Johnny was pretty out of order today with what he did to Ruby. Unless he plans to watcher her 24 hours a day she'll be out of there tomorrow.

But does that make him a bad person. Probably

But in respect of Ruby, I really believe that he is just trying to be a concerned father and protect her.

Ruby needs protecting from HIM!!

Okay, here's the plan, someone ring Johnny's mobile and lure him to a flyover. I'll talk to him about how bad the weather is and just generally waste his time - so some of you can free Ruby. If Johnny gets annoyed and threatens me, I'll push him off the flyover... Anyone up for it?

Am now, but wouldn't have been a few months ago. Despite the fact I am considerably younger than Ruby I used to fancy him.

Surely we all know about Johnny 'CCTV' Allen - he'l have a camera linked to her 24/7. Crimewatch should speak to him for advise as they quality of Chrissie's confession was crystal!

Well he is nasty to everyone, he is even nasty to his daughter!

It is typical EE character assassination. When they introduced Johnny they tried to make him likeable by attempting to move him away from the gangster image that he was originally brought into the show for. Now that he is leaving (and maybe I'm just being cynical here) of his own accord they are destroying his character by making him a really nasty little sh!t.

I hated him whenever he just went around with Tina to have dinner with Dot and Jim and faffed about with Ruby... BORING! His character is now the way it should have been the whole time - Didn't Billy Murray say that if he knew the way the character was going, he would have reconsidered his decision to leave?

Everything with Phil and Grant, upsetting Ruby and jamming the door on Peggy's hand (especially when he sang that rhyme to her when he was doing it!) was brilliant!

I thought Johnny was a brilliant character until he quit, they'd already made him turn into a soft case, then carried on to make him look extra-evil, he's moving onto his 3rd personality twist already!

The early days of his comeback were ace i felt. "Paaaatriiiiicia Harris!!... Are you still working?"

Totally agree Bob.

They had to make Johnny unlikeable to give the return of the Mitchell brothers more impact. So they turned Johnny into a bully who preys on old ladies and teenage girls in order to make our intrepid heroes look good.

Now he is continuing to bully teenage girls  , including his own daughter to make him even nastier for when he leaves in the new year.

It's the same nonsense they're doing with Ian regarding the Wellard storyline. You just know that it's so people will cheer when Phil does the dirty on Ian next time around (probably when he makes Ian sell back the Arches for a fiver. )

I liked Johnny best at the beginning where he was trying to make a good impression with all the locals - e.g Dot & Jim but Andy & Dennis knew what he was really about

When Johnny first joined he came in as a gangster but they wanted us to like him so they made sure that he only picked on characters that weren't liked (e.g. Andy Hunter and best of all the Ferreiras) and he made a point of telling everyone who cared to listen that the golden rule is not to upset your neighbours and family. So, even though we all knew that he was involved in dodgy activities it was played down so that we didn't see any nastiness in him, and anyway, he only picked on bad guys.

However, they softened his character too much with all the Ruby and Tina rubbish and the dinner party with Dot and Jim nonsense.

Now they have gone completely the other way and made him openly really nasty to everyone around him. It doesn't tie up with how he was originally and I don't think it is credible that someone like Johnny, with his past reputation, would change in this way. In my view it is poorly written with no thought going in to the way that his character was originally portrayed and it is just an attempt by the writers to discredit Johnny, whilst at the same time making the Mitchells look good.

Agree 100%- he was a very diverse character to begin with, same as phil & grant to some respect. Now he is just there as any angry old man. The big storyline about his 10 yr relationship with Tina & she is gone in a flash! continuity is lacking me thinks

Billy Murry has done a great job playing Johnny Allen,
he's so convincing that I'm starting to not like Johnny
I'm sure he had something to do with ripping the Mitchells off as well

It reminds me a bit with what they did to Phil Mitchell the last time (or is that the time before?) he was in it when they did the Lisa/Louise storyline and Phil turned into a really grumpy nasty piece of work. I bet everyone hated him then.

I was watching an old episode of UKgold the other day & it was the one where Phil admitted to Sharon that his father beat him & it really showed the different dimensions to his character- i.e why he behaves the way he does. Now these 'strong' men are just bullies.
Scene of the year so far in my opinion:
Phil & grant in the corridor of the club getting ready to see Johnny - Phil to Grant 'stand still & look hard!'

Don't know how likely this is but

Spoiler
Johnny might try and kill Phil but it doesn' work, So Phil might get Johnny killed before Johnny kills him

how does that sound?
