Can anyone tell me of their experiences in getting a replacement SIM card because of it becoming blocked due to a PUK entered wrong 10 times.

Does the service provider charge for the replacement?

I don't think you'll need a new SIM card, you just phone your network and they'll give you the PUK number to unblock the phone. I've had something similar happen and I just called my network they gave me a number to put in and that was it. You're best bet is to call your network and see what they say.

I have to add that I could be totally wrong I'm just guessing.

You are right Helen, Orange but it right for me straight away.

A mate of mine had to contact BT a couple of years ago to get his PUK, they charged him £25 for it.

He's now on T-Mobile.

The PUK code is a master reset on the sim. Some Sims (Try repeating that rapidly) expire after 10 attempts at guessing the PUK. Basically, you then have to contact the network for a new Sim (usually about £25).

If you can still enter the PUK, call your network, giving your security details and they will give you your sim there and then (free these days I believe).
