Leaving Vodafone, going to O2
MobilePulse
25-11-2005
Hi all, after a while with Vodafone I think it would be cheaper for me to go to O2 as their Onine text offer seems good.
When I get my PAC Code from Vodafone, will I have to give O2 Customer Service a ring with my new code or can I email them with this and some details?

Thanks,
MP.

when you start your new contract online i believe there is a section where you can enter your pac code at time of order, they will then usually email you 48 hours later advising of a date of porting, if not call cust care and they can tell you over the phone.

The emails take longer if you call it should be done quicker

BTW the transfer takes 5 working days from the date of request

its actually longer than 5 days, i had a customer today who requested port in 2 days ago and wont be done till 1/12/05.
i say it generally takes 7 working days from date of request to port date. if it happens sooner then its a better customer experience.

<putting on industry hat>

MNP (Mobile number porting) guidelines state that Port Ins can take anytime between 7 and 37 days.

However the majority of cases do happen on the 7th day.
