Apart from a handful of posters I mostly skip things on here now - fast forward syndrome.

From the downright crude posts to those oh so long self-important so called analytical posts there's not a lot on here now that I want to read.

I'll keep poppying in though to read the excellent updates from the DS reporters - that at least is well up to speed and worth reading.

I think the problem is that a good deal of threads cme down to:

such and such an incident shows X to be two faced/a liar/whatever therefore Y should win.

followed by bickering.

These discussions are simply propaganda wars - neither side listening to the other properly

There ARE plenty of people (myself included) who are interested in discussing it more objectively but most conversations get taken over - I seem to have fallen into a position of being sarcastic about the more over the top bits of paranoia and propaganda rather than actually talking about things

I think DS should have set up a BB general discussion thread where BB fans could just ramble on about anything. Then the specific threads wouldn't have been taken over as often and Beth wouldn't have had to nip so many threads in the bud.

There does seem to be a lot of negativity on the forum this year, I think that is to be expected though, given the was the BB producers have chosen to format the show. The moderators are trying not to stifle conversation while still enforcing the rules and protecting ourselves from libel action - you can't, however, please all of the people, all of the time.

I really gain no pleasure from closing threads, it is just a part of keeping this friendly and easy to use.

I do not think it is just this forum, but many forums and newsgroups.

Perhaps its a combination of the show format, the contestants and memories of BB1 and BB2. Expectations of what the show was to be and what it has actually turned out to be. General disappointment perhaps?

I agree, there seems to be loads of negativity in this forum, perhaps we are mirroring the negativity in the house? I have to say it was funny when mromega reminded us to read the Terms and Conditions again in the Jonny is two-faced post. I felt like a BB housemate!!
