SCD and how it affects your everyday life
Reading through here with smiles as I read about dinners being burnt as we are on the forum and forget to check the tea, revising being done in between SCD bouts, slavish setting of videos hours in advance in case we miss anything...I wondered how SCD has affected your lifes this series?
And actually, I am really using this thread as a blatent excuse to wish Happyfeet all the best in her exams over the next few weeks...but didn't want the mods to delete a 'good luck' thread as it isn't OT...so I have disguised it quite cunningly don't ya think!!! ![]() Good luck Happyfeet Do your best and remember, there is always the Anton aromatherapy room or Tiny's shoulder to run back to in between all the stress. You'll be fine babes......mwah. xxx |

Ahahahaha - smooth move there Boho, don't reckon anyone noticed
![]() Well as has already been mentioned, this place is a haven for students looking to do that dirty word... procrastinate ![]() I tend to do a whole subject area and then promise myself I'll check on the Forum and post as a break, and do online multiple choice questions in between. I also plan my supper around eating at 6.30pm to watch ITT, and take notes to post on the Claudia Fashionwatch thread. And I always come on at Bewitching Hour before bed so that I go to sleep thinking of randomness and not nasty scary panicky exam thoughts. And let's not forget Becks has had some scary medical exams too - she just doesn't bring it up every other second like I do, and I think Allybee has some Law type ones too! Thanks for the support though. Trust me, it helps

Good lucky happyfeet!
I feel so young, I've no exams at all! Well last year I did have my junior cert but this year I'm in transition year and thats basically just a big doss fest so I've loads of time to become addicted to SCD! I try not to mention it too much around my friends cause they'll think me sad ( ) but sometimes I can't help it and it just slips out! But I love SCD and I'm in LOVE with Darren Gough, at least my friends agree with me on that! Scored the internet for pics last night, *sigh!* Darren to win!

Yeah, good luck Happyfeet, Becks and Ally with your exams.
And you are right this is a good place for procrastinating students. I've been writing the world's dullest essay for the last couple of weeks and break my studying up by coming on here. And then the night posting is a chance to let the old hair down and have a bit of fun. So, once again - I hope everyone's exams go really well. Fingers crossed for you all. |

Good luck all exam-taking folks!
I do indeed have my first-ever set of scary Law exams in three weeks, and this forum has worked as an excellent procrastination tool- I don't think my refresh button has ever seen so much action! I have lectures up till six some days, so I find myself tearing home to catch ITT, whilst everyone stares and wonders why I'm doing my ridiculous power-walk. I join the Bewitching Hour lot when my brain has given up the ghost, making it no longer fit to process sensible thoughts. At that point, I am definately in the right mind-set for the chaotic hilarity that goes on around these parts at that hour! |

Good luck to everyone with exams coming up.
I'm one of the ones I'm afraid whose life isn't affected at all by SCD or ITT. I enjoy watching the both programs, feel sad when a couple is voted off and happy for ones who get good marks. I get irritated by some of the judges comments, but don't 'hate' or 'love' any of the dancers or celebs. It's entertainment isn't it? And at the end of the day, in my humble opinion, one of the best shows on the telly |

Good luck to Happyfeet; hope it's soon to be a case of us having to refer to you as Dr Happyfeet, & everyone else facing the dreaded ordeal of exams.
SCD & ITT affecting my life? That is a good un. I guess the main thing it's done is make it so that I actually enjoy watching TV again, in the evenings. The news tends to be depressing & my job is one where I'm lucky to have any contact with other people, except as a disembodied voice on a radio/mobile, so it's great to be able to come in, or wake up, of an evening & find something that is, not only, pure entertainment but a joy to watch. I may be with Dancedreamer; in that Darren & Lilia are my favourites to win, but I genuinely enjoy seeing people put into such an unusual situation turning out such great results week after week. It's certainly helped to see some of the celebs in a whole new light. And, yes, do end up getting quite involved with the Saturday shows; arguing with the judges when I feel that they are being unfair, but I guess that can be put down to being human & having come to like, virtually, all of the participants. I've been a SCD fan since series one, but it's only since earlier this month, when I saw a post about this Forum on James Martin's website, that the show has dominated my life.
I came, I saw and posted, and now spend several hours a day reading everything.I like the community here, I used to spend a lot of my time on another messageboard, but now I seem to spend more and more time on the SCD forum (but was unlucky to miss out on being on the Alternative Panel) I do dip into other forums on DS, mostly IACGMOH, and the soaps one, but it will be interesting to see what happens when SCD ends

When it ends, the forum will still be here as they keep it on (well they did last year) so people can still post here...but also, everyone spread your wings...lots of nice places to post on here...and some scarier ones!

We can open our own version of the Blackpool Ballroom (the DS Ballroom) and put it in General Discussion, in the Chatter forum and then we can all meet in there for anything that we like

SCD and ITT being a news gatherer on another site I spend early sat evenig flicking and writing at the same time!!! weekdays when ITT is on I am teaching but we have TV on in the bar and never miss an ITT for all those lucky enough to be waiting for classes or pupils needless to say I have been slipping out for a coffee around 6.30 these days |

if people are still interested after SCD has finished I for one will help out with gossip and info when I can as my brother is a ballroom and latin judge and I am out judging most sundays and mix in circles where I can get plenty of news

Thanks bendymixer! It must be really interesting to be a part of the dance profession and see how interest picks up so much for 3 months of the year. I have images of children and others congregating round a tv

Hopefully the BBC will let us start our SCD Fan Club, so we can all carry on sharing the 'hot gossip'!
