Hi, i'm Sally and have just inherited somehome cinema gear.

Loewe Aventos TV, Yamaha rxv620 receiver and speakers. I already have Telewest cable and invested in the Sony 710 DVD recorder last week.

None of the instruction books with the Sony are in English, i've emailed the retailer for some.

Meanwhile, can anyone plse tell me how to set everything up with ariel/scarts. I also need to know how to record one channel while watching another. Sorry for my ignorance but this is my first DVD recorder.

The fact that you manuals are not in english means that you most likely have a HX710 and not the UK HXD710 so make sure you download the correct manual. Also remember this when reading various threads relating to the "710" as things could get confusing.

Basically you can't unless you switch back to another source such as your cable or analogue TV. The 710 only has only one analogue tuner and the D710 only one digital (freeview) tuner.
