Reaction on this board to this week's task...

(Don't worry folks, it's positive)

I've been reading through the pages of opinions on last night's task, with all the discussions over who was motivated by what and so forth. Always enjoyable, apart from when the uber-fanatics of any persuasion decide to comment. And the thought has struck me that, compared to how much discussion has been generated over the simple matter of a 40 second phone call, can you imagine what these boards would have been like last week had the HM's been forced into discussing the nominations?

My own slant on last night's task is that Johnny's insistence on Tim taking the call did seem a trifle odd, although I wouldn't go as far as to say sinister, or playing to the cameras. I suppose it's the difference between saying "I don't want to" and leaving it at that, and insisting quite strongly that someone else takes it.

Oh, if only they'd been discussing nominations.

Suggesting someone else takes the call sounds more like self-sacrifice than simply refusing it would, if you do it convincingly. Though Tim and Jonny were both far too intense and persistent so it became quite obvious neither of them wanted the call, rather than were prepared to give it away. I agree with you about nominations, if the previous task had been worded correctly it could've been very entertaining stuff.

These people are all adults who sit and talk about when they lived Japan/Germany and all sorts of other places. Jade lived in her own flat until she got evicted, thats the only reason she's living with her mum!! So why do they continually make a big fuss about seeing/phoning their families. It's not been that long for gods sake! If Jonny was that concerned about his "ma and da" he wouldn't be there in the first place, I'm sure Alex is only there to escape his parents (have you seen them?). The line "I need to know they're alright" accompanied by a stifled sob is just ever so slighly crap, if anything happens to any of their parents or family I'm sure they would be told.
