If such is the case then my mom, my 4 sisters and I think it would be a nice thing to invite Bill Turnbull and Karen Hardy back for the Special.
There, I said it.

*LOL* Bill had an incredible sense of fun and is still engaging people in lively debates as to the merits of his dancing. And let's face it; it may not have been the most prudent move for him to keep dancing after getting hurt, and some people have gone so far as to say that it shows how stupid he was. I don't think so.
To me, it shows just how badly he wanted it, both for himself and his partner. Feet and ankles take one hell of a pounding when you dance. Now imagine dancing on a foot that in all reality most people wouldn't even be WALKING on, let alone dancing on had it happened to them. Having been where he was (a sprain bad enough to my ankle last year that it pulled a piece of bone off the joint) I can tell you in no uncertain terms that it HURTS. How he kept his mind off the pain and just kept coming back, I don't know. And only he knows why.
And what can I say of Karen that already hasn't been said? What a brilliant choreographer- she learned what his character was like and what his innate strengths were, then designed routines around them to best take advantage of those things. I'm not forgetting about her own dancing though.

You only have to look at her to see a tremendous love for the sport. Then when she actually gets going, watch out! Got a DVD-R from my aunt and cousins in Worthing where I finally got to see some of the show in full. At the end, I was left wondering..."Where does she get the energy for all THAT?!?" To say nothing of that winning attitude of hers...
In the end, for whatever reasons (only the parties involved know for sure) Jill and Darren won't be dancing at the Christmas special. That leaves 1 spot open the way I see it.
Why not fill it (if they want to) with the team of Turnbull and Hardy? It'll give them both another chance to showcase their skills - at a time when Bill should be at 100% again and they can both put even MORE into a performance than they have already.
Besides, I wouldn't mind seeing the cha-cha routine again.

They OWNED the night they did that one no questions asked. Pure magic at its best.
Cheers!
