Haha, yes, the rehearsals are always hilarious! I just love the look of the dance too...I bet they all get to wear gorgeous dresses, as always! *is envious of dresses*

What a dance, What a dance!. The American Smooth was superb and to think when it was first introduced by Tess I was thinking "The what, what?" I had never heard of it. They all looked gorgeous, the girls in those beautiful dresses and the boys...Oh the boys in those lovely suits, with Silver ties to set off the black. Someone in wardrobe was thinking on the right level there!
I'm also looking forward to the next group dance, the rehearsals look like more fun than you can shake a shimmy at.

This can be like our Len Masterclass!
American smooth is quite new to the UK. The dance school I attend is about to start lessons in the new year

Being new to this site I may have posted this reply in the wrong place. However the dance school I attend is going to start American Smooth lessons in the new year.

Am I alone in thinking that the American Smooth isn't really a dance at all? At first I thought it was a dance-designed-by-committee, but it's not even that. All dances, from the frug, twist, and funky-penguin to LA and onwards to the strictest tempos and even morris dancing have two things in common. They have a rhythm and tempo to which they are danced, American smooth has no such thing. It can be performed to several other dance rhythms, but has none of its own. It is, in fact, nothing more than a bunch of rules to what would otherwise be completely freeform.

Tell me I'm wrong.
