7.15pm DOCTOR WHO
8.15pm THE GREEN GREEN GRASS - XMAS SPECIAL
9.05pm EASTENDERS - Episode two

ITV ONE

5.45pm EMMERDALE Hour long
6.45pm WHO WANTS TO BE A MILLIONAIRE?
8.00pm CORONATION STREET Hour long

Why is it embarrassing? It's Christmas Day - everyone will be watching telly that day so there's no reason to be concerned...

I still think it'll change. Probably to something like this.

6.30pm Doctor Who
7.30pm EastEnders - Episode 1
8.30pm THE GREEN GREEN GRASS - XMAS SPECIAL
9.30pm EASTENDERS - Episode two

ITV 1
6.15pm EMMERDALE
7.15pm WHO WANTS TO BE A MILLIONAIRE?
8.15pm Creature Comforts
8.30pm CORONATION STREET
9.30pm The Booze Cruise

9.00pm THE BOOZE CRUISE

Maybe but i think ITV will try and do it's best not to clash with Doctor who.

I can see ITV trying to rearrange the schedule, to make sure that Doctor Who doesn't run into Coronation Street, especially since the episode has been getting a lot of press attention recently.

There is a way to avoid Doctor Who:

BBC ONE
6.45pm EASTENDERS - Episode one
7.15pm DOCTOR WHO
8.15pm THE GREEN GREEN GRASS - XMAS SPECIAL
9.15pm EASTENDERS - Episode two

ITV 1
5.45pm EMMERDALE Hour long
6.45pm WHO WANTS TO BE A MILLIONAIRE?
7.45pm Creature Comforts
8.15pm CORONATION STREET Hour long
9.15pm THE BOOZE CRUISE

That would be a better way - but ITV want to trash BBC so putting Corrie up will do that.

Any word on the repeats? Hopefully BBC3 will repeat both EE eps at 10pm. Will certainly save me setting the VCR on Christmas morning.

Yes, I heard about this a while ago - and I'm pretty certain it was from an article in a tabloid newspaper so I question the reliability of it.

I have to say though if this does happen BBC3 will have completely gone to pot - BBC3 News and the EastEnders repeats are both regular viewing for me, so if they both go there will be little else I watch on there.

The best show they have IMO is Two Pints and they've resorted to putting it into repeat overdrive at the moment.

I'm not entirely convinced the EastEnders repeats are going yet though - i'll believe it when I see it. I've not seen any written confirmation of this from the BBC and it's regularly BBC3's top rated show of the night so I just can't see it myself.

The controller of BBC THREE said to The Dailly Mirror's TV land that 'WE ARE CONCONTRATING ON NEW SHOWS' or something like that - and it wasnt a 'SOURCE' it gave his name. Two pints is what i watch aswell - they go mad on repeats!

One thing all the TV channels can be sure of, none of the shows will clash with the "festive celebrations". Haven't believed in Father Christmas since I was 7, and now, 7 years later, the festivities for some time have been: get up at usual time, go down, don't eat breakfast, open prezzies, say thank you, get pissed on all the mulled wine, get told off by parents, play with/assemble/use presents, watch TV for the rest of the day.

LOL!

Glad I'm not the only one!

Yes, the magic of Christmas sort of ended when, almost 7 years ago, as a little tot of, erm, 7, I plodded down in the night with a headache and saw the parents putting presents under the tree.

"So there IS no Father Christmas?" My stuttering parents told me that Father Christmas had been called off suddenly and had given the presents to them to put under the tree. I said:

"Do I look like I'm stupid to you?" and walked back up to bed. My twin sisters, then aged 4, came down, saw what the fuss was about, and gasped at the sight of our con artist parents and cried:

"You tricked us!" before running back up to my room to bitch about them for the rest of the night!!

But don't get me wrong, I love Christmas, and I still get that warm tingly feeling when I wake up in the morning!

TV, presents, and extortionate amounts of food, here I come!

Interesting.

Maybe this is the logic by the BBC...

The best ratings the BBC3 repeat gets is on the day of a soap clash. So perhaps the BBC want to avoid any future embarassment from losing these clashes with Emmerdale by removing the BBC3 repeat so that soap viewers have no choice but to relent and watch EE on BBC1 and then catch Emmerdale later on ITV2.

Therefore, BBC1 wins the soap clash and no more embarassing ratings losses.

Either way, still stupid IMO. BBC3 can't fill the schedule with many "new shows" as things are. But now they hope to trial some by taking off one of it's most successful ones instead of replacing some of the endless repeats. It's a joke that this channel wants to extend it's hours

Cheers for the info anyhow.

This thread has turned all Xmas like! But anway.. We allways have about 4 tins of sweets, onions, gherkins and all the Xmas food.. It's great.

TV is good on Xmas day - That's another highlight - watching EastEnders and the others.

It was bound to get Christmassy in the end though!

Yeah I love TV at Christmas, I love the way some shows get title adjustments to make them more festive, it's so heart warming lol!

I am still wondering why it couldn't be Victoria flipping Sugden who falls down the mine shaft with Daz, and why it couldn't be Gnome that Jimmy runs over instead of Tricia's tree.

Ah well. Can't always have what we want in life.

With the shows do you mean when they say like.. LITTLE BRITAIN XMAS SPECIAL?

I take it you dont like Victoria!
I found Victoria really annoying when she was giving the silent treatment after she found out about Robert and Katie!

I felt very Christmassy today. When we went out for dinner and saw this gigantic Xmas tree was up Got me in the festival mood if you were.

Boxing Day is my favourite day for TV at Xmas though! Don't ya just love lounging around at home watching a load of movies and soaps on the telly whilst stuffing yourself with a load of mince pies, etc?!

No, not the titles in that way, I mean all the ads for programmes and stuff and the logos for each channel sometimes have tinself and baubles hanging off them.

And yes, I hate Victoria. She's just so immature for her age. My sisters are the same age as her and you'd think they were a thousand years older lol, and they're not even very mature!!!

Boxing day is good.. I am SO annoied that NO soaps are on on Xmas eve - because it's a Sat - this is a great day for episodes. Aslo one of my Favourite soaps, Family Affairs will end at new year and that it's not on Xmas day!
