Perhaps I’m being unfair.

The pro Alex brigade are always banging on about how ‘interesting’ and ‘funny’ he is. I know I only have E4 and C4 so maybe he really shines on the net feeds but I can honestly say I’ve never seen him do anything even remotely funny that didn’t involve urine or him being steered by Sandy or Adele.

Come to think of it I’d like someone to tell me exactly what he has done since Adele left?

Oh yes, sorry, he did talk to himself for a bit didn't he.

no i dont think so but it was SOOO funny when Alex was drunk
the other night and was talking to him self in the mirror and all the boys were laughing at him.

*sigh* - the comedy value of Alex relies in his idiosyncracies and his quirkiness. I guess it's a bit too subtle for people who prefer jokes about farting and bosoms.

Alex is the new Frank Spencer - deal with it

He's more like Richard Briars character in Ever Decreasing Circles

He comes out with some fantastic one liners. Such as the time when he, Spencer and PJ were on the poor side when Alex was having difficulty going to the toilet. Spencer suggested to him that he asks BB to give him some of the medicine that they are giving to the chickens. To which Alex retored 'yeah but will I lay an egg?'. The others laughed their heads off and said that's quite funny to which Alex replied 'yeah well I'm a funny guy if you'll just give me a chance to stop whinging. Fantastic!

I agree with the others who have side that it is his quirky/Frank Spencer mannerisms that are also funny.

When drunk, the man is very funny. When not, he comes out with some good lines, but this depends on his mood. When he's not happy, boy is he annoying.

People generally laugh at him, not with him. He really is quite pathetic.
Strangely, I seem to have the same problem. can't imagine why.

james i think that could be said of alex in the couple of weeks but now he is geniunely funny in a laughing with not at kind of way(apart from the talking to himself in the mirror which was definitely laughing at but not in a nasty way)

The only thing I find funny about Alex is his walk.

I thought it was only the Jonny fans who lowered themselves enough for ill informed, personal attacks. It’s nice to see you lot are no better.

Perhaps I should make my position clear.

I’m no fan of Jonny, in fact if I were to choose a winner out of the two it would probably be Alex. It’s just I don’t see the attraction in the man himself. If you watch E4 he comes across as a rather petty minded, tedius little man who I for one wouldn’t want to spend a great deal of time with.

Frank Spencer WAS brilliant.....20 odd years ago he was great........then again the Osmonds were very popular too.

Alex is my favorite i don't find him dull although i admit that i don't know what i like about him either,

i find that as soon as he walks into the room my attention goes straight to him and i don't notice what anyone else in the house is doing

Frank Spencer was very annoying, (is still) just like Alex.

And today Betty escaped from the pen, Jade said 'Oh has Betty jumped out?' and Alex said 'No this time she got a spade and tunneled her way out'.

Alex does have a dry wit and produces occasional one-liners although I suspect he couldn't tell a joke, crude or otherwise, to save his life.

He also tends to lack that capacity for self-deprecation that the English usually value so highly and is not good at joining in jokes when they're at his expense.

I think we can nearly all agree though that he is the cause that wit is in other men (and women) as a very good butt.

Alex is the only genuinely funny person in there. The company in there is what brings him down.

I wouldn't say Alex is dull. He can be quite entertaining sometimes but annoying other times.
The same with Kate and Jonny. I think they're all equally entertaining. We all have our faves and Kate is mine. It would be a boring old world if we all thought the same.

Alex's humour is quick and quirky and not just about how loud he can fart ( he does that well too)
It probably goes over the heads of some people who won't Admit alex is an ok bloke.
I for 1 am not a Jonny fan and even though i think his reason's were not for Tim in letting him take the phone call, he was worried about Tim...... I think that was genuine. I dont like the bloke but i dont think he is pure evil either. Just a wanna be desperate to win big brother because he thinks he deserves it the most. It's not Jonny himself I don't like it's the C4 edits profiling him.
how many times has Alex's humour been on C4 ?
not many... only 1's that make him seem daft
Jonny may win... but ...... hey !! I'll live

His visits to the diary room are often funny. E.g drying chickens and getting frog food.

Alex is constantly playing to the camera's.
That fall of the back of the sofa was that for real or what.
He is in for the money,if he win's,he will be off to Germany the next day. No one will ever see him again, (maybe Tim will)

Alex is entertaining because of his eccentricities.
Alex is so well loved by so many of us out here because of his honesty and humanity.
You would not understand that so please stick to Jonny and spend your time together discussing farts, bums and tits !

Probably all the housemates have played up to the cameras at one time or another. I don't really get what is so wrong with that. I prefer Kate and Alex to Jonny but feel a bit sorry for Jonny when he is accused of being conscious of the cameras - surely you can't help being conscious of something? And so what if they play up to the cameras occasionally? Sometimes it's very funny when they do!
