Ideas For Next Years Bb

What new ideas could the programme makers introduce to next years BB?? I would like to see the HMs have access to a PC and the viewers be able to email them (like on C4s Eden). They still wouldn't have any access to the outside world apart from that and they would not be able to discuss their emails with anyone else in the house. We could really wind them up

"This is Big Brother, Would one of the housemates please come to the PC Room and check their emails."

Nah, Unless BB looked at EVERY SINGLE mail before it reached the PC in the house there would be loads of indfo about the outside world in the mail

I do think it could work quite well, On Eden they had a set amount of time each week that they could read their emails, they couldn't reply to them and yes they got info on the outside world but each one would be getting information to use as they saw fit and if they couldn't discuss it they could only guess what the others knew. In this years BB they are getting loads of clues from from over the wall anyway. Each HM would have their own email site and they couldn't access anyone elses. The only thing I would change from the Eden idea would be that the public shouldn't be able to see what emails the HMs has received and read, then the input from their families would be limited. We could tell them who had been talking about them, who we thought was playing up to the cameras, if you're looking for ways to create tension this would work!!

I actually think that now, Big Brother would be a better programme if the Channel 4 nightly show was shown to the housemates at the same time it was shown to the public.

I don't subsribe to the idea that Channel 4 are "fixing it" for specific housemates, but I do subscribe to the idea that BB applicants are becoming more and more media savvy. So let them see how they are being portrayed by the C4 programme, and let's see how that changes their behaviour.

And perhaps let's have a real psychology show on C4 on Sundays rather than 2 or 3 minutes out of a 50 minute programme.

I think it would be interesting if their was a way you could have an international BB with people from different countries. I know that would be impossible because each country would try not to vote out their own representative. But it would still be interesting a house fall of different nationalities.

Too far too think ahead. I bet you all know what to answer at interviews when they say 'whats your 5 year plan'

I look at them stupidly when they ask .. and I say I will adapt with the flow of events.

To have a 5 year plan you would need to be God. Shit happens.

To worry about BB next year you would have to be more bored than I am ... or perhaps you think that the BB producers will read this forum and think you are stunning in your insights, and ask you to be a producer.

How about Big Brother: Champion of Champions

Like the Winner and Runner up from each series so far goes in for maybe a shorter period, maybe for charity I don't know!

Craig
Anna
Jack
Claire
Brian
Helen
???? - BB3 Winner
???? - BB3 Runner up?

Or a World English version, the winners of BB1, 2, and 3 from the UK, South Africa, Austraila, and America.

Trouble is everyone would vote out, the foriegners!

How about Eurovision Big Brother? Chuck 12 people into a house and none of them have a single language in common. Then at the end of the 9 weeks we could have live link-ups with all the countries, and a ruddy great flashing scoreboard.

Put all the past and present producers of BB in the house and let the winners and runners-up of all three BB's produce the show, decide the tasks, the budget and how it is edited - mwhahahaha - now THAT would be fun to watch

Much bigger cash prize.
They should be able to discuss nominations - bitching and backstabbing the rule not the exception.
They should be able to form alliances.
Nominations go on to a public vote as usual.
Their budget for food should be down to a task every week.
They should have an extra cash bonus for the winner of a seperate challenge each week.
They need to make sure that the HMs have at least a brain between them.
Wannabes should be a total no no, and anyone found to have cheated this rule is OUT! (C'mon, Jonny and Alison both part time actors, Jonny a band, Adele a wannabe singer, Kate a part time model, Alex a full time model, PJ and Tim both appeared on the Villa allegedly, Jade has allegedly posed for some girlie mag, Lee a total publicity freak...)
The age group, regional variation, and background should be broader.

Just for starters!

I think for series 4 they should move over to the USA format.

I would not happen as it would love CH4 money on phone calls but it works very well over there.

I think we should also have some say as to who goes into the house. They could do it pop idol style by having eveybody that wants to go onto BB show up to an audition and then a pannel rejects them till they are down to 100 and the public then vote people in.

They have chosen the wrong people this year all apart from Alison and Alex. Alison was evicted by BB and NOT the public im still hacked off about that.

For any non believers then why else show the % of each person 3 minutes b4 the lines were to close and not do it in any other show.

I also think that we should start with 10 people and when a person goes out another takes their place. In the last week you vote from all the remaining housemates as who you want to win.

I'm with you Johnno, on the prize money, and have said so in other threads. I don't think in this day and age that £70,000 is a huge amount of money, hence why the show attracts wannabees and people generally more interested in being there, rather than winning (so long get their own show/single/front cover etc. afterwards).
A hefty first prize of say £500,000 (they can afford it!) would attract people to apply just for the money. I also suggest 2nd and 3rd prizes to keep it interesting towards the end. Would Timmy be looking to exit now if he could win £70,000 for coming 3rd?
With big money at stake things would be a lot more interesting for us viewers to watch as greed takes over from playacting.
I've also suggested doing it now - telling the last 5 that they can win more money for winning, and for 2nd and 3rd. It would be great to see how/if they changed their behaviour.
They did say this year was going to be full of surprises - well surprise us with this!

The first 12 applicants drawn at random go into the house,
if anyone walks they are not replaced,
a 1st and 2nd prize which is a percentage of the prize money determined by the final public vote
a much larger prize, I would like to see £1million, this would mean they would be more gutted when evicted etc., less likely to walk.

Good stuff! Maybe WE should be working on BB4 production team next year?!! If it paid enough I would!

What the hell are the BB/C4 guys doing? They clearly couldn't run a piss up in a brewery yet have subjected us to weeks of total and utter rubbish from the very start, beginning with the selection ("we chose ppl we would want to watch in the BB house..." You total freaks!) I wanna see them named and shamed!!!!!

I fancy that, producer for BB4 -does that make me a wannabee!!!Seriously, the current crop do seem a little clueless dont they.
Just for good measure here's my other idea, also previously posted so apologies for repeating myself.

The HMs nominate 1 person to take part in a task that requires no specific skill. That person is put in solitary confinement for 24 hours (the 'secret' room in the garden).
Unknown to the other HMs, the HM in solitary can see and hear the E4 coverage on TV in the room.
The other HMs would be certain to talk about the prisoner and could provide some really comic moments as we watch the bitching going on and the prisoners reaction both while in solitary and on their release.

What do you think?

some of the same...

much bigger prize

2nd & 3rd prize to stop the idea of walking (Tim) to get a week on BBLB which you don't get in the last week

decent tasks that bond the HMs and sometimes provide absorbing 24/7 entertainment (fire task) - First Aid was great and useful - this years tasks were COMPLETE CRAP.....no thats not even close - they were FOOKIN USELESS.

Helen pogo'ing, Assault course, Dancing, Heads over the wall, Dog training, Pottery, Guiness book of records stuff, Airline safety drill.

Producers of BB3 should be shot or made to live on the 'poor side' indefinitely.

Hot water at random times etc - breaking the day and people up made for good viewing.

Bring back the Mangle.

Weekly garden games - crashing out is not what I pay £9.99 a month to watch

Get them to brew alcohol if they want to get drunk.

Permanent love nest.

(as I write .....Alex is farting...possibly one of the most interesting moments of BB3)

Allow instruments - Anna & Dean provided hours of entertainment.

Even cards were good when Darren & Nick always cheated.

Keep more people in later and allow nomination talk ? last 2/3 weeks seem to drag when numbers reduce and (espc) thiis year nothing happens.

(Alex farts again)

Make them all take a driving test - penalty death.

I would have the house redesigned so that there is less opportunity for privacy when speaking. Thinner walls for example so people can possibly hear what others are saying.

Agree with a lot of ideas here.

I've been having exactly the same ideas as johnno.

The public having the desicion of who goes in, I mentioned this last week. Whether it be like the Pop Idol format or not could be thought over.

Instead of replacing "walkers" with new people, have a task that enables housemates to nominate a previously evicted housemate back in.

I think something like GeeBoy's idea would be great.
Have a task, in which a winner can watch E4 for a day, with access to whatever luxuries he/she wants.
But the thing is, that this is a secret that can not be mentioned to anyone else. if it is, they're OUT. Full stop.

A Winter version of BB.
possibilities here are endless.
People could have all that pantomime stuf iff they wanted, party tasks, christmas trees, .
Resricted to the house would mean they would get closer, as friends OR enemies which would create some tension.
Hot-tub in the garden with snow all around would look good at night.
Mistletoe for the ones who want to get close.

I mean these are things just from the top of my head, I'm sure that there's loads of possibilities.
Not forgetting a final night which could look spectacular if they got the design right.
The prize money £1000 000, say, would be the ultimate Christmas present.

I know it might seem unlikely, but I think it could work really well.

Wouldn't English be the common language? In fact the Euro contestants would probally have a better comand of it than some those for whom it is the mother tongue.

Back to BB basics, if you ask me - 10 housemates, weekly task (like the first aid and the dancing ones), none of this divide shite but with a much bigger prize. Too many gimmicks have ruined this series, too many ill-thought out ideas.

Sometimes the same old same old is good.

How about giving them more to do during the week to prevent so much boredom, and give them something to talk about. They could also have a "mole" & the public can be told there is a plant, but not told who and we have to work it out to win a prize. Another thing to do would be to prevent them hearing things over the wall, like the chanting and the football scores so that they are truely isolated!

I have to agree with this. It wasn't broke so why was there need to fix it?

I disagree with the suggestion to have evictees put back in. If I have spent money to vote someone out it's because I really wanted to see the back of them (actually, only in Spencers and Alisons case have I made that sacrifice at the altars of BB and O2) I certainly don't want them reinstated.

And if new HMs are going to replace walkers then I would like the chance to vote them in.

BB/C4 loves the phone-in revenue. So keep the nomination/eviction process the same, but also have a phone-in to name the least popular HM. After the eviction, BB tells the HMs whether or not the person evicted was the least popular with the public (but does not name who it is).

So, if the least popular wasn’t evicted, then its obvious that the least popular is someone who wasn’t up for eviction. Give the smug gits who think they are popular with the HMs something to worry about! And if the least popular was evicted then there’s a new least popular person anyway.
accidie
15-07-2002
I'd do away with the nominations and just have all the HMs up for eviction each week, the one with the least votes leaves. This would maximise call revenue and mean that popular HMs aren't voted out early. It also means that the really dull ones aren't there at the end just because they haven't been nominated by their fellow HMs.
