Hellooo, yes that right I'm back and I had a wonderful time!! More of that on another thread.
Here I want to say a big thank you to the BBC for asking me to be part of the ITT Alternative panel, and especially Annabel, Clare and the lovely sound man (sorry for forgetting your name).
Also It was wonderful meeting PeachUK, Lady Boz, and Strictly in the flesh. Thanks Strictly for the use of your lovely house and for being able to meet you and your beautiful dogs.
Was very sad not to meet Bees as I was looking forward to that, but congratulations girl on your engagement and I hope you had a wonderful time choosing your ring and being wined and dined by your beloved.
I say thank you too to my fellow forumites (now friends) for making my life a joy over these past weeks.
This experience has truly been one of the best of my life and couldnt have come at a better time. A few months ago there is no way I would have wanted or been able to do something like go to london and be filmed for tv.
Since I graduated in 2001 I have been unemployed and the struggle to find work and live on benefits took its toll and I sank into a deep depression, it has probably been one of the worst times of my life.
Then two months ago I started a part time college course designed to get me back into work, I am doing an SVQ in Heritage care and Customer Service, and almost overnight my life has completely changed, I met new people and made new friends on the course, and now I am on the placement part of the course, based at the Scottish Poetry Library for six months.
It is a wonderful place to be with wonderful people in it, and is just so my kind of place. I finally feel I am where I am meant to be, doing what I am meant to be doing, I love poetry and write it and also plays, and writing is ideally what I want to do, but also as a result of the course I am hoping to do a post grad course in Librarianship.
The other wonderful thing is that for the first time since I started watching Strictly I have been able to fully and truly enjoy it, I get so much joy and pleasure from it, feelings I have not felt for a long time. The anticipation of wating for it to come on on a saturday and for ITT to is wonderful, and of course coming on here just makes it even more special.
Since coming on here I have never laughed so much in my life, so thank you guys for helping change my life.
Going to London has been the icing on the cake,
so thanks Peach, Lady Boz and Strictly for a great time, and thanks Happy for working so hard on our behalfs, and good luck with the exams, I love you all thank you for being my new wonderful sparkly pink friends
And also thank you everyone on SCD for bringing me such joy and especially Ian and Zoe.
Right going to stop gushing and sneak off to another thread!!
love Star xx
