Brendan will be dancing with Rachel Hunter in the SCD Xmas special. Rachel Hunter originally danced with Jonathon Roberts in the American Dancing With The Stars. She was eliminated after week 4. And was often acuused of leading her dance partner.

...I can't wait.

You can see her dance here Dancing With the Stars USA

Oh, where did you find this out from. Does it say who else will be dancing and with whom?

He told me last night....hee hee hee. Nah joke, it was on his website. Breaking News

Thanks.

So I guess we will have to continue to wait in suspense to see who else makes it onto the show. Although if he is dancing with Rachel does that mean that Natasha Ker-cant spell the name-sky isn't taking part then.

Good old Brendan - you can always rely on him to get himself back into the limelight can't you? I'm really looking forward to seeing that - she's a strong woman, she probably won't put up with much nonsense.

I don't think there was ever a chance of Kaplinsky making a return. I wonder who else they will get from America. The only other person on there that would be well known in this country is Evander Holyfield. I loved John O'Hurley and knew who he was before but don't think a lot of people would.

Oh and there was a guy fron New Kids on the Block too.

She's a big gyal, about 6 ft. Don't know much about her personality though

I've always had the impression, from the various shows I've seen her on, that she's pretty fiesty. I think she seems like quite a strong person, very sure of herself. There could be some interesting fireworks in that partnership!

She was a good mover. If she is feisty I can't wait. Let the sparks fly. But you never know, they may get on like a house of fire.

I just checked out the link that Eclipse80 provided - to Raphael's website, which is superb - I sent him my compliments. Didn't it say on the official site that Rachel was born in New Zealand? I guess at least both Brendan and Rachel have that in common. Equally, given that she has learned ballet, it must have helped her as it did Jill because she appears very flexible in the routines that she did with Jonathan Roberts (What happened to him, I wonder? Conflicting schedules?).

In the "Partner Swapping" Thread, which suggested the possibility of pairing celebrities with different professional dancers, one of the couples that people suggested pairing together was Brendan and Denise. In a a similar manner, I see Brendan and Rachel as a potentially explosive dancefloor partnership. There is a perception that they are both fiery and determined, so their temperaments might prove compatible and I can see them working well together.

As a side note, I actually wrote to John O'Hurley's website in the outside hope that he will be participating in the programme. I'm not sure that I'll even get a reply, but here's hoping! If I hear anything, I'll let you guys know. Either that or someone better informed will probably purloin that information from "a reliable source".

I can't wait for this Xmas special, as I love the thought of comparing the spectacular dance style of the American participants with the familiar brilliance of their British compatriots from SCD.

I hope Brendan can bring out the best in Rachel. Her Tango was passionate, her Samba was sultry and her waltz was graceful. Just watched her dances again. She is actually very good. She obviously loves to perform and I would kill for her legs.

Woohooo - it should be a fabulous pair-up! I suggested it when I saw the clips last week - my first post was like "how great would the two Kiwis be together" - am so excited, couldn't have asked for more Wow. That's really cheered me up!

EDIT: I just realised too, that they're going to have lots of time to rehearse together and choreograph some dances as Brendan is no longer in the competition! I do hope that Jill and Darren are going to be in it and have time to return to their Jive form of last year

As for Jonathan Roberts, he can't do it because he is slated to perform in "Dancing With the Stars: Season 2" in the United States. It's starts on January 5th, which means that given things such as travel, training and the infamous "jet lag", it would be close to impossible to do both and give the very best he could.

As for the pairing of Brendan and Rachel...

My instinct is telling me that the "heat" factor between these two is going to go off the charts, but in a very, very good way that only promises some dancing not to be missed!

Anybody check out that Tango her and Jonathan did? The lady's obviously got talent...and wow, what a stunner to match the personality!

Yeah the Tango was 'hot'!! Jonathon and Rachel were a really good pairing. Plus she is so versatile in her dancing. Her waltz was so graceful.

If the USA dancing with the stars starts in january then I doubt any of the professionals from the first series returning, will compete in England. There is a training period with tthe celebrity for a few weeks before the first episode.

Maybe all the USA DWTS celeb dancers will have UK SCD professionals. That should be fun and more familiar

No fair eclipse....here I am just home from a night of driving a shiny new ambulance wanting to wind down, and there you go getting me wound up again! *insert funny, sarcastic and naughty grin here...*

As for your point, I actually never thought of it that way until now. Which brings me to this....two big "if's"- but wouldn't it be great if it happened? Talk about your "sparks" and a fantasy pairing....If his partner Charlotte Jorgensen can't go (and my money is on that she can't...) and IF he himself is able to do it...

If it couldn't be with Bill, then am I the only one on this board crazy enough to think that a Karen Hardy and John O'Hurley pairing would burn up the floor? Personally, if it could happen then that is one team I'd definitely put good money down on to see.

Cheers!

Reading the title of this thread, I thought Brendan had got himself yet another girlfriend. Relieved to find out he doesn't get around quite THAT much.

Be still my beating heart. I would love to see what they would come up with. Especially after having watched John's and Charlotte's "sitcom" freestyle in the Danceoff programme on Raphael's website. It would be worth it just for the facial expressions alone.

*Imagines Karen crossing her eyes and John raising his eyebrows *
