I reckon you could put togeather an analysis that would make Kate and Jonny an item

Well I can't really see anything interesting happening on Big Brother until the final. So maybe Big Brother are trying to make it look like Kate and Alex have relationship to make BB more entertaining. Well I don't think it will work. Kate likes Spencer and Alex likes Adele (i think) and that's the way it's supposed to be.

Do you think so? I always feel it's more pro-Jonny. perhaps I'm just looking for it as I so don't want Jonny to win!

I have suspected that there is a chemistry between Alex and Kate since week 2. She started off by openly admitting to everyone that she fancied Alex. As soon as he admitted that he too fancied her, two or three days later she went off him and started flirting with Spenser, claiming that she was not attracted to him anymore because he is a perfectionist.

If l was in his position l too would be confused and a bit jealous. She did not explain why she had changed her mind about him. One minute she was all over him flirting and then the next minute she was flirting with Spenser.

It is no surprise then that when Sandy came out with his lion analogy that he jumped all over it and agreed that Kate was the house whore. That was the only way he could explain her behaviour.

All the petty arguements between them since has been fuelled l believe by jealousy. Kate's relationship with Spenser made Alex jealous and Adele relationship with Alex made Kate jealous - (several incidences like, Kate told Adele a dream she had in which she burnt Adele's car and wrote bitch all over it. When she saw Alex kissing Adele that same evening she got inbewteen them in the bed and started kissing Alex and Adele)

Now Adele and Spenser are out of the way they were bonding in a physical way, very quickly. But with Jonny, PJ and Tim making them feel self conscious (asking questions about follow the van game) Kate/Alex are worried that they may be percieved as slappers outside of the house. As a result they are now distancing themselves from one another.

I agree with some of the previous posts. I don't think they will get together after this because there has been too many distractions and obsticles in their way. They are, l believe in denial of their true feelings for fear of being percieved in a negative way - too flirtatous. A fear which they have both voiced openly with other housemates.

My analysis :- Said shrink has got a bazillion quid on Tim to be next out at 9 to 4 on, and wants to plant the notion in the public's head that Kate and Alex aren't going to nominate each other, so he can lay it off at a shorter price.

That'll be £30 please. Come back next week, you're still sick.

oh come on
it's obvious they fancy each other, but whether they get on (personality-wise) is a different matter
alex has fancied her from the start but got jealous when she became more friendly with spencer, hence his behaviour to her (oranges, duvet)
kate admitted it too at the start but then it all turned sour as alex got arsier with her
they've obviously been some sexual contact over the past week but i reckon kate is refraining as she doesn't want to appear to be a floozy on national TV after what happened with spanky
for this reason i think she denied that she fancied alex to the boys and also to protect her back just in case alex 'rejected' her
alex is not all over her 24/7 as she hasn't clearly given him the green light
alex+adele = just good friends (on alex's part)

I like Alex and would like him to win, but I do think in some way that Alex is actually jealous of Kate and Jonnys relaitionship. I believe that in alot of ways the psychologists are correct about Jonny wanting to be the centre of attention. Jonny knows in order to remain top dog in the house he must try his best to keep Alex and Kate apart as that would leave him in a fragile postion in the house. But at the same time I think alot of the resent Alex is holding against Jonny, is that fact that he is unable to build that relaitionship with Kate. Kate would be open to getting closer with Alex but knows that would mean she would fall out of favour with Jonny, there is obviously sexual tension between them which is why she did not admit to follow the van incident.

Watching todays show confirms this to me when you see Alex and Tim in the house and Alex tells Tim about his father saying just have fun. Alex wants to join in but Jonny is a big factor in how close he can get to Kate.

Regarding Alex's relaitionship with Adele I've been thinking that maybe it wasn't as sincere as it looked on Alex's part. Although I think he liked her from what he told Tim he didn't fancy her although his actions said otherwise. Adele however said before entering the house that she would hide her true emotions and concentrate on the game which she did. However seeing what Alex said about her and what Davina implied at her eviction night brought her true feelings for Alex out. I often wondered why Alex never vocalised his true feelings for her. Was it all an act or was what he said to Tim away of protecting himself from the publics backlash, after all this is a game show and the point is to win, and openly starting his true feelings for someone whom it seems is hated by the majority may hinder his chances.

So I think if anything is going to happen between Alex and Kate it certainly will not be inside the house but outside.

I think BB needs less psychologists and more occupational therapists.

They're cheaper, hand out more tasks and with any luck there'd be some nice wicker baskets left over to auction at the end.

i think alex knew adele's low self-esteem regarding men
that's why he gave her attention but it was never as physical - just playful - as it has been with kate (follow the van only originated when kate was there and not when he and adele were alone)
that's why he didn't openly admit that he didn't fancy adele until she left - a real gentleman!

If Kate really has a "fear of rejection" then why, out of all the men in the house, did she choose to run around after Spencer? I know he showed the odd sign he was attracted to her, but in the main he was (outwardly) supremely indifferent towards her.

I really don't think there is anything happening between Kate and Alex. Can you imagine her shedding any tears if Alex is evicted next week? She still talks about Spencer a lot and made that cake for him yesterday .

They are all annoying me now. I'm glad it's over soon.

I agree Lucy - the rivalry between Jonny and Alex. Good observation!

I don't know if Alex would want to meet up and start a relationship with Kate when he leaves the house.

When he sees the footage of all the events that has taken place in the house and all the stuff that Kate has been saying about him behind his back - when PJ and the other lads were questioning Alex's masculinity and she followed the crowd and agreed with their observations.

This will definately hurt his feelings and his family and friends will probably advice him not to pursue a friendship with her because of all the stuff she has been saying.

Alex's parents have supported Adele and said that they like her, so if any friendship will be continued it will be between those two rather than Alex and Kate

alex is a model - most women would fear rejection from somebody who has probably been with a lot of beautiful women
spencer is not a model, but average joe bloggs and kate would maybe be more confident of him being attracted to her
she probably fancies alex more but thinks her chances are more realistic with spencer
there's no crime in fancying two blokes in a two month period (especially if they're spanky and alex)

Degrees are BS anyway. I say that having got one myself and so do all of my immediate family, 2 of them in psychology. That said, the BB psychologists spout a huge amount of cr*p. It is not even in accordance to the experimental knowledge regarding imprisonment etc.

What tonight does provide is an insight into is the way that BB want the script to go. They want Alex and Kate as the last 2.

It was also VERY obvious tonight that they cunningly edited out every little bit of Alexs' opposition to Tim getting the phone home on saturday. Can't have him looking bad now can we?

Well I actually am a psychologist...now don't all jump on me. I am a cognitive psychologist & not behavioural! But to put one thing right, Sandra Scott is a psychiatrist & not psychologist. And the other two are social psychologists...and if you do a literarure search I think you will find that none of them have actually produced much research.

They do use well regarded & cited theories to base their opinions on. And they do what all psychologists do...gather evidence to support their view. And in this case, that is channel4 clips.

I agree with some of their assesments, I disagree with some. However, it is not my specialist field, so I would rather not give 'professional' opinions. I prefer to be able to shout & rant & rave about the housemates
