Is Tim's friendship with Alex genuine?

I am of the opinion that Tim is using Alex. Not for BB but for his business when they get out. (The entertainment recruitment agency). Any thoughts?

I don't agree as I think he is using him for BB, and after is finishes will no longer be interested in him.

I think they have more in common than with many of the other housemates, therefore its believable, surely, that they could be genuine towards each other.

I think that Tim and Alex genuinely get along although I think Tim initial reason for sucking up to Alex when he first entered the house was because of Alex's popularity on the outside.

I found it a little bit suspicious when Tim first went in that he immediately started bonding with Alex who he would have known was very popular outside the house but apart from that they do seem to get on well and have a lot in common so I think it's genuine.

I think Tim and Alex's friendship is genuine - in a 'dependent' kinda way.

I'm sure Tim must have been aware of Alex's popularity before going in to the house, so he chose him to "bond" with straight off. What he does not realise is how the patterns of popularity have shifted since then. Yes Alex is still popular but now Jonny, Kate and even Jade have grown in the nations opinions. Alex as aways being the nice trusting guy is being used again (ie Adele & Sandy) by someone but he is unaware.

Tim entered the house on the "rich side" and Alex was the only male on that side which would have led to them bonding regardless of popularity etc.

I think the common trait shared by the 2 of them is that neither of them are putting on a front and are being completely themselves. Alex annoys the housemates endlessly and has been nominated several times but his behaviour has not changed at all. Tim orders hair products with the shopping!!! That is such an odd thing to do and bound to get you strange looks from the male members but he goes ahead because that is what he wants.

I definitely think the friendship is genuine as they respect the fact that both although sometimes may not agree on certain things and behaviours etc will not change for anyone...

I think its as genuine as it can be in just a few short weeks but I don't think its a deep friendship. I personally didnt feel comfortable with the bit where Tim puts his hands on Alex's shoulders when he was talking to him, about wanting to leave the BB house. Dunno exactly what it was that I didn't like about it, can't put my finger on it, all I know is that it didn't look as if it was genuine, could go into talking about body language etc but I dunno, all I know is that to me, it just didn't look right

I so agree! It didn't look comfortable, did it? Alex's reaction was interesting, as he was straight as a board, rigid, a bit put-off by it I thought, and he moved away quickly, turning his back initially to Tim. I do think they ARE friends, but it's a lot more to do with inhabiting the same type of world outside (Tim's agency etc), therefore kind of networking.
Weird that C4 cut out Alex's pithy comment to Tim, to the effect that the public might not like him going on about his cars etc!
