Hey... You Judges!
Tasi

Well you never know, they may read it!

CRAIG: I love you! You are so honest and give credit where it's due. But try and end with something positive. It does wonders for the morale.

ARLENE: It's taken you many years to learn your craft... they've only got a week! You're at the top of your tree, one of our top choreographers give 'em a bit of leeway.

LEN: Never change! Just stay the way you are.

BRUNO: Siete una stella assoluta! Dovrebbero darvi la vostra propria esposizione della TV.

Per favore! Don't think I could take a whole Bruno programme!

I just want to ask Arlene to be a bit more realistic with her scoring. Len is perfect, Bruno needs to get over his obsession with Zoe always being wonderful and Craig needs to carry on like he did last week, positive.

I reckon in reality you should ignore all the judges except Len. Far too often they are sticking to their stereotype.

Though I do agree with the OP, about Craig (even if it is just listen to your partner) and Arlene (ITT needs to get her to try to present a live show, bowl a fast ball or do the cooking on Ready Steady Cook).

As much as I love Len Goodman (AND I HAVE KNOWN HIM YEARS) he is way to soft at times ie his marking of Zoe of late

Agree with the above. len is a lovely guy, and wants to encourage everyone, which is great, but he does sometimes let that take over and is not sometimes critical enough. He does mark high, but that is less important than being consistent, and this series I think he has overlooked errors e.g. Zoe and marked far too high for the performance given, whilst sometime slightly undermarking others, although his comments were positive. Very confusing really!

listen my fellow liverpudlian who supports the greatest team on earth the lovely Len who I REALLY do know is way too soft with SOME people letting glaring things go with others he picks up on really minor things - Len is just a sweetie and probably does have soft spot for both girls

My messages to the 'joodges', would be "DON'T KEEP SHOUTING *cough* I mean don't keep shouting over the top of each other!!". You all have valid opinions, observations and points to make, and I want to hear them ALL!

I wonder why the panel is made up of such a hotch potch of different experiences!

The show is called Strictly Come Dancing and is based entirely (well, almost) on Ballroom and Latin-American dancing, yet we only have ONE out of the Four judges with a sound grounding, Expert knowledge of and many professional years experience in the field. The others may well be (or have been) at the top of their particular tree, but that tree is not Ballroom Dancing.

It's no wonder the marking is so mixed up and confusing when only one of them has the credentials to be classed a ballroom judge.

There are many people out there who would have been more appropriate, Richard and Janet Gleve, Robin Short & Rita Last, Michael Stylianos & Lorna Lee, good grief, how many good Pro comp dancers could they have chosen from?

There must be a reason for the BBC picking these characters, but there's only one mouth that speaks with authority on the subject, the others all seem to want to make a name for themselves as nasty, soul destroying hard-guys. They haven't got the experience/knowledge to make good analytical/critical comment on the dance technique, so they use highly emotive words that are grossly over the top, without a single care or thought for the person they are assassinating.

Bruno: Great sense of humour but I'm utterly tired of how he gushes over Zoe. I also think he secretly fancies Darren Gough

Len: Can't stand the way he coddles underachievers on the show. And on tonite's ITT admitted he almost gave James a 10 solely because CRH marked too low in his opinion.

Arlene: Started off in the "firm but fair" mould of judging. Encouraged the competitive spirit of the show which I liked. Didn't like when she told Gloria Hunniford ( a grandmother) to get raunchy with a much younger man. Lost respect for her totally when she undermarked Colin and Erin's Foxtrot.

CRH: This man is the beeknees of judging. Beneath the sarcasm and bitchiness there is often good advice given out. Marks based solely on the performance given and not on favouritism or who he feels sorry for

formally trained dancers will know all sorts of dance and omg as much as the pros you mention (you missed off the stopfords and weavers and donnie from that) they would have been as dull as dishwater - lets face it Lens noted in recent years for his freestyle disco champions yes he has sound grounding but he also has and is famous for is humour and style in lectures something sadly many of the top pros lack being more wrapped up in themselves

HEHE I hadn't forgotten Sammy and Shirly etc, but had to STOPford somewhere

I know what you mean re Lens character and the other Pro's not being so outwardly entertaining, I just get totally fed up with the other judges making up for lack of knowledge with cutting, sarcastic and generally uncalled for but highly "oh look at how important I am" remarks.

I suppose there is the possibility that is what the BBC want from them, but in my view, they need to learn how to criticise fairly and leave out the personal insults and attacks, they just look childish.

Diamondlife's already said it all as far as I'm concerned. Agree with every word.
