Noooooooooooooooooooooo!

Karen said on ITT that shes going to re-retire. I hope she changes her mind. While Bill and Karen weren't my personal favourites I still thought they were a great couple in the competition.

Please, please, please, please, please, please, please, please, please, please, please, please, please, please, please, please, please, please, please, please, please, stay for at least another series Karen!

she really should do the next series

Until I read this I hadn't thought about Karen being the only British female professional in this series. I really hope she's in the next series too, as she's been a wonderful addition, both as a dancer, and in the whole spirit of the show - so emotional and expressive - always laughing or crying, and sexy too.

I do remember seeing Karen dancing as a competitor on TV many years ago - she was way better than her partner - and by the sounds of what she said on Richard & Judy today, it wasn't her who chose to retire but the decision was made for her.

Her husband and baby looked gorgeous on the telly, and naturally she wants to be with them, but give it another whirl Karen! You're so much fun!!

I got the impression that she is not coming back as well

This would be such a shame she is a great dancer and have really enjoyed watching her.

Sorry bill's not my cup of tea.

Please re - consider Karen

I'm sure we will beg

Why did Karen hang up her dancing shoes in the first place?

Karen's got to come back for the next series.

Please. Pretty please.

NO! NO! NO! NO!

She can't do that! She's got such grace and poise and a wonderful dress sense. And look here... she's the only Brit woman in the blinking thing.

HAPPYFEET.... Start one of your petitions!

My sentiments exactly. Even if she won't dance again...which would be a great pity...I hope the BBC can involve her in the next series in some capacity.

We've got to have Karen back dancing in the next series.

If she isn't dancing then she should become a judge, and replace one of the 3 current judges who have little knowledge of ballroom.

The Licence payers have spoken. BBC must do whatever is necessary to get my lovely Karen back.

If Karen and Lilia aren't in the next series I'm not watching.

Yes you can if you have digital TV and a video recorder. I don't know what equipment you have.. but what I do.. is set a timer with my digital box to watch a particular channel at a particular time... then I set my video to record the AV channel and make sure the tv is switched back to the digital box and then it works... if any of that makes sense?

it makes sense i just dont know how you set a timer with the digital box to watch a particular channel at a particular time urgh i'm never gonna see it

Even though the lovely Karen is on, people should not be encouraged to watch Richard & Judy. That is just too cruel!!

Pipie: on my digital box.. I press the "Menu" button then the "timer" option then I click on "Active" and you will see from then how to set it to a time and channel. It can' tbe too much different on yours.

I've been thinking about this, and although I love Karen and would, of course, like to see her return, I can understand her reasoning if she does decide not to.

She had a brilliant dancing career, was World Champion, reached the very top of her career. And then it was over. And she went through therapy and all sorts of other things to get through that, to get over it and move on. She thought she'd finished her dancing days completely.

Then came the phone call from SCD, and she thought, yes, I'll go for it. She met Bill, they hit it off immediately, they both had the time of their lives and made it far further in the competition than either of them imagined was possible. This was due to their hard work, determination and brilliant choreography. It was a massive effort for both of them, taking them away from their families and pushing them both to the limits of physical and emotional involvement, fitness and tiredness. Karen had a fantastic time and she and Bill built a close bond and a good friendship.

She enjoyed the experience so much, and enjoyed working with Bill so much, it was a perfect end to her career. And if she did it again, with another celebrity, she might not have the same fun or build up the same bond. Which would ruin it somewhat.

Obviously I don't want to put words in Karen's mouth, and I don't know whether this is how she feels. But it's just a thought. Perhaps this is the sort of thing that is so special doing it for a second time could only be a disappointment.

or doing it for the second time could give KAren the opportunity to win! Also to give the chance not to be a one series wonder in SCD (Like Brendan was and those that only apeared in one series)

MikeyD

ps. I'm now expecting flack from Brendan fans!!!

From the sounds of it, retirement was sudden and thrust upon her, I believe she came back so that she could knowingly have her 'last dance' and then retire on her own terms. Good for her.

She seems happy to retire and I wish her well and thank her for sharing her love of dance.

It just seems such a shame to me.

I think that the pro that the celeb is dancing with is becoming part of how far you get in the program.

I think Gloria got as far as she did due to Darren B, and the first 2 that went out were due to us not knowing the chracters of the pros. Karen was a huge exception to this rule as she has such a strong character and comes across as instantly likeable.

I know that I would have supported Darren G even if he wasnt a fantastic dancer (which suprisingly he is!) as he is with such a fantastic pro dancer.

Well, let's hope that Karen will read this thread when she checks the forum and maybe she can let us know... hopefully that the beeb have been on the phone every hour of every day begging her to return!!!

Good Morning Ladies and Gentlemen =D I am new to your lovely SCD abode so for now I shall be good and play by your rules. =P Kidding. Anyway, now that I have semi-inflated my own ego (or thats what it would appear like I were doing if I were a man but alas, a lady I am.) by introducing myself, i'll get to the point shall I?.

Karen Hardy is a fantastic dancer; what she did for Bill was beyond words. I think the dance world will once again mourn for her when those dancing shoes get hung back up once more. I know it isn't the same as perhaps it would have been when she retired from her Professional Career but seeing her and Bill working so well as a unit makes it seem that way, it does to me anyway, but that's just me xD

I truly believe that no-one alive should critizize anything Karen did or brought to the competition, her presence alone was enough to allow her to shine once more and that feeling alone must be worth it's weight in Gold.
