They may both be from privilaged backgrounds and of a similar age but thats where the resemblance ends.
Will comes across as a likable,friendly young man who can have a laugh at himself.
Tim appears arrogant, boring & middle-aged!

It was funny hearing him say that. Can't remember exactly but I think it was something along the lines of "Why would they hate me - Will Young went to boarding school as well...". Tim seems to totally define himself by his boarding school background and judging from this seems to assume that he is being judged on his breeding rather than his personal traits - which are awful - even though some of his traits may not have emerged had he come from a different background. He doesn't seem able to see passed the whole "toff" business and seems to assume that noone else can either. He'll be comparing himself to Tara Palmer-Tomkinson (spelling?) next!!

If he was the genuine article he wouldn't be so suburban in his attitudes. Think of the difference between the Audrey Fforbes-Hamilton character in To the Manor Born and Margo Ledbetter in The Good Life. Margo is always having to assert her social credentials and put others down in order to reassure herself of her place in the world. Audrey knows who she is and doesn't care about anyone else's opinion. Perhaps at his boarding school Tim was viewed as a bit of an oik, new money don't you know. I'll bet he was also a bit of geeky runt. That would explain he constant preening - like an insecure young girl wearing too much make-up to appear more sophisticated and cool - and his need to let people know of his supposed status. I think underneath he is the very opposite of arrogant, he's very insecure and is trying to ally himself to a group of people (rich and upper class) he assumes to possess everything that the world values and respects so that he will be respected and envied without having to do anything to earn it.

I doubt Tim will be able to compare himself to Will Young on Friday. After all I would imagine the millions who voted for Will to win Pop Idol, will not be rushing to support Tim.

They will probably be rushing to their phones to call in and vote Tim out - that's if there is any justice in the world!

I'm not a Will Young fan but from what I saw of Pop Idol, he seemed a very humble, likeable, relaxed and happy lad.

Tim is the *exact* opposite.

Delusion is a common by-product of extreme arrogance and it shouldn't surpise us when he comes out with things like this.

Just out of interest, on the Will Young 'official' site there's a recorded interview where WY talks about Big Brother. He says Tim has claimed to have been out for a drink with him, and that he's a liar.
