Talking of which - what's the situation with upgrading existing 160GB machines? Can you just plop a drive in and it "just works" or is there more to it? If so, is there a known drive size limit?

Upgrading to 300 GB is fairly common, and I think some people have gone higher. Install a new blank drive and it "just works". (Possibly for an old drive with existing partitions you'd need to reformat, I'm not sure, but that's pretty easy anyway.)
