A rant....

Whats the point of trying to buy concert tickets online for hot gigs? I have been trying to get onto the NEC website for over an hour to buy Take That tickets and I am yet to get through. This happens time and time again when a popular act announces date. Of course the NEC will say it's because of the high amount of traffic, but after all these years and considering how much the NEC earns, you would think they could design a system that could handle all these requests.

And I've just seen they've announces a third date and I still can;t get on - and yes I have tried ringing as well!!

Rant over

My sentiments exactly. I've just made very similar points to yours in another thread about Take That tickets selling out.

This is the point I was trying to make - if i was trying to but tickets for a less popular gig (not saying G4 are) then you would miss out also

got through easily for Take That and Robbie Williams the other week on www.seetickets.com

if you can't get through to them or ticketmaster then find their IP address and get through that way (it works)

can recommend aloud and see tickets (most of the time).

have certainly managed to get glastonbury tickets for the last four years from aloud. the worst was in 2004 tho' when tickets went on sale at 8pm on sunday, and it took until 1:30 am to get six tickets, with two phones, and two computers.

i was unable to get tickets for Nine Inch Nails at Birmingham earlier this year for the same reason, and the Academy uses a ticket agency for their sales, they couldnt cope either, same problem with the phone. Seems to me that people are also buying (extra) tickets to then sell on ebay, that way the tickets pay for themselves in effect. The NIN show sold out in under an hour, unfortunately they didnt add a second date.

I've never been able to buy tickets online or on the phone, despite always ringing constantly at least 20 minutes before the lines open!
I cant believe that there are more people than tickets ALL ringing at 9am on a monday morning (or whenever the lines open)

I managed to buy a ticket for Take That on seetickets for one of the extra dates.

But (and I'm not sure if this is standard or not) I filled in the form with details of the ticket type I wanted and credit card, address, etc.

I got a confirmation page saying my order was being processed and I would receive an email within 3 days with my order confirmation and details of the order.

So I've submitted my credit card details, but have no confirmation number and no idea whereabouts my tickets are (which is annoying because I probably wouldn't have proceeded if the seats were cr@p).

I know seetickets are a reputable firm, and I have no qualms with buying online in general but this sounds dodgy!

Has anyone else using seetickets experienced the same?

I got annoyed with Ticketmaster but at least you know what you're buying before you submit your payment details.

I managed to get some after 4 hours of trying, took ages, I think it's a useless way of doing it over the internet cause it just times out. And what really annoys me is them people who buy tickets just to put them on ebay to make extra money, there should be a law against it, or ebay should ban it from happening. I think it's fair enough if tickets are on there closer to the time cause people are ill etc and can't go, but this far in advance and also before they even go on sale!!!!!!! Ridiculous!!

I got mine at 9.10 on seetickets.. i tried on ticketmaster at the same time in case seetickets failed but ticketmaster was a joke. got them on seetickets easily although i got the same message.. I got my confirmation email about an hour later but the one problem I have is it didn't say the seat numbers? i've emailed them to ask but not heard back yet. I think they changed the system to allow for the busy-ness because everything was all on the one page where it isn't usually.. and when i checked back at about 11am the site was back to its normal format so maybe this was why no seat numbers were stated but i thougth they might be on the confirmation email... and now i'm just waffling!!!

I've just had my confirmation email come through from seetickets too. Same as yours, gives me a reference number and concert date etc. But no seat numbers.

Can't help but think that's because they haven't allocated them yet. Seems strange though. I've bought from them before and not had problems. Just hope I don't have to wait until 7 days before the event to get my tickets to find I'm in block Z row Z!!

helpme@seetickets.com is the email addy
yeah that's what i was thinking, born, but it's weird that other sites have allocated them but not seetickets. i paid 35 each for mine though and that;s the highest price face value so i should be somewhere near the front!!
