Cheers guys

is sounds like you need to change our settings on he 710 to output 16:9 instead of letterbox

- on your 710 remote press the 'system menu' button
- move down to 'setup', press enter
- move down to the 'video' option, press enter
- there the top option should be 'TV type' press enter
- make sure that you have 16:9 selected here

if you have your 710 setup to send the TV picture to your TV from Line1 scart output you should make sure you have that setup to be RGB output, on the same 'system menu'/'Setup'/'video' move down to 'scart setting' and change that to RGB.

hopefully having these settings will output a 16:9 RGB singnal to your tv

It may also be worth checking the Sky box isn't set to 4:3 letterbox. If it's a widescreen TV you shouldn't be getting black bars above and below the picture on any channel, except for the odd movie.
