CHEERS

no intention of being a spoilsport - glad to hear you're having a good time with some scots. sandy's presence on bb had a few of us considering setting up passport control at hadrian's wall - not to stop pps from the south but to stop 'ambassadors' [sic] like him leaving the country.

*big prob, he's already based in london - there'll be a massive strike at edinburgh/glasgow/aberdeen airports the day he buys a homeward bound ticket.

No he did not. He said LAST WEEK he had £40 worth and then went on to say that they (then) had budget of £400. This weeks budget is only £200 so he would rather go without Alcohol and spend his share on Fags.

Talk about blinkered viewers.

If they don't stroke Poppy's ego, then he sulks big time. He teamed up with 3 people that have come across very badly to the viewers and has been guided by their views and still is,and he can hold a grudge like few people can.

As for him walking, that would take some bottle, the little boy has had it so good in his life, that he cannot accept it when people don't like him, and the same can be said of most of us, but Poppy takes it to the extreme.

Yes he does have his moments, but they are far and few between, and getting fewer and further by the hour.

I can only see him teaming up with Tim on the outside, as once he see's what Adele and Sandy were really like he'll see just how gullible he was.

And I still think, that we laugh at him, not with him, and that would make him feel that people are taking the p out of him. (never in the shower though)

I'd like Alex to go on friday, at least Tim makes an effort sometimes, without an ego being stroked.

The point that we're missing a bit here (I think) is that the housemates are not friends. At least not in any way I understand friendship.

”

Quite right LK. My own personal view is that they, with one or two notable exceptions, are playing a game and are doing their best to 'get on' with each other for the duration of said game. To expect them to do more in that situation is a bit unrealistic.

Even stronger than what? Alex is unbelievably weak. He totally does not deserve to win this year's BB.

I'm seriously starting to think about voting for Jade next week.
”

Alex is indeed a weak character. He chops and changes his views, depending on the last person he spoke to. He formed his original view of Kate because (in his words) he went by what other people told him. I personally believe that he is quite a straight character and doesnt go in for conniving and double dealing but he seems to be drawn by people who do and takes on their views. Unfortunately because he doesnt seem able to see that so often others have their little agendas, he cannot see that he is being manipulated. He is clearly upset by Kate having nominated him but is forgetting that at this stage of the game it all has to be tactical and it is better for the weaker links like Jade to stay in the game. He takes far too much too personally and after watching his family on GMTV this morning, I can see where he has learnt that from. His family were clearly smarting from Alex's nomination ( understandable) but all they ended up doing was slagging Kate off because she has hurt their little Poppy. No criticisms of Jade or Jonny for nominating him. Why not ? Anyone involved in this seems to have forgotten than it is a competition. You take out what you perceive as the competition and leave in the one that you perceive as least threat to your winning. I dont think either Jonny or Kate would relish another week with Jade but now they are so near the finish line they know that they have to keep her in.

Oh dear. Alex had made an effort with Kate and he didn't nom her, she nommed him. How can you have a go at Alex when HE is the victim of being stabbed in the back to a degree?
”

Alex has not made an effort with Kate. Heck, he left her on the poor side for weeks. He has nominated her regularly and after seeing she was more popular than he thought ( through her survival of nominations) he decided to be more friendly. His previous aversion to her he explained away as having been influenced by others. Why oh why are people so convinced that Alex isnt playing the game ? Because he says so ? Get real.
Alex is playing just as much of a game as anyone else. His latest ploy is to go for the sympathy card especially when he knows that he hasnt got much of a chance of being evicted this week. Kate and Jonny have been consistent in regularly nominating Alex. The reason he ended up with eviction alongside Tim was down to Jade's constant inconsistency of nominees. I dont care who wins but I do get really fed up with hearing how poor old Alex is hard done by and how everyone else is playing the game except him. Wake up and smell the coffee.

Alex has only nominated Kate twice I think while she has only NOT nominated him once. I think she'll be quite surprised when she finds that out.

I have been very pro Alex up until last night, and wanted either him or Kate to win, but I was appalled at his behaviour in last nights C4 programme. I thought that the "hide from Jade" game was very funny and Jade took it in great part. However Alex completely changed the mood when they sat down by picking on her for repeating herself so that she ending up going to the bedroom on her own. It was cruel and unnecessary and it ruined the evening.

Get Alex out. Tim is funnier anyway (laugh at not with of course).

Carmen welcome to the ranks! Thank goodness the scales are falling off peoples eyes Its a big person that can admit they were wrong. Many people on here cling to there favorites no matter how they behave in the house.I totally agree with the behaviour being cruel...what started as a laugh was twisted into a nasty spectacle.

1. Alex is a decent enough bloke, and probably is being himself in his most extremely miserable form. His early whinging about cleaning up etc, was justified, the problem was with the way he went about saying it. Now he is as fixed in his role of 'cheif moaner' as Jonny is as 'court jester'.

2.This is not 'reality' TV - who honestly thinks that all Kate & Jonny do at home is have shopping trolley races? or that Tim really spends 20 minutes in every 60 fixing his hair? Tim's major problem is that he seems to think he really is living in a real house with people acting the way they would normally. It's a GAME Tim...........

3. I have never liked Jade - within the first half hour of 'meeting' her, I wanted her gone. But the way the others have all ganged up on her is just cruel. At least Alex had the decency to recognise what he has been doing, even though he seems beyond the point of stopping. And kudos to Jade for not flinching when Alex leapt out of the trolley! Anyway, all this bullying will do is create sympathy for Jade, and may even result in her winning.

4. Jonny is being himself, IMO. I think that with his mates he really is the life and soul. He just didn't realise that he wouldn't be able to maintain that persona 24/7, or that not everyone likes silly games thrust down their throats. I never could take to him, even when he was the nation's darling, but I don't think he is deliberately playing up to the cameras - he's just being him.

5. I couldn't believe that Kate could really ask 'what have I done to upset Alex?', but I think that she's mostly a nice girl. Like the rest, though, she has scented blood where Jade is concerned; she is dumping all of her frustrations on Jade by aiding and abetting the bullying (which as someone pointed out has at least verged on sexual assault).

6. As far as I can see, only Adele was 'playing a game', deliberately using tactics to win - and it failed.

Sorry this is long, but I had a lot to get off my chest!

Ah but you are not Kate. You dislike Alex, you don't pretend to be his mate and play with him and then nominate him, so I wouldn't call that stabbing in the back and would be perfectly logical for you to tell us that you would not like to be left with Alex. Kate said in the DR the other day, that after talking with Alex she felt comfortable with him, talking to him, played with him, and enjoyed a bath with him (can't remember her having a bath with her best mate Jonny), she didn't indicate to Alex any discomfort or problem, but all her interaction with him were friendly, yet....she went on nominating him, that *is* backstabbing!!

Just a quickie, I'm getting bored with the rants on here(including mine!! lol) I dont think Alex is perfect, FAR from it, but I cant understand why people cant see, for all his faults, he is completely genuine, he's like an open book.

As I said in another post, I was gutted for Alex, I was surprised by Kate's nomination tho I had a sneaky feeling it was going to happen, tho I knew he wouldn't nominate her.
Jonny and Kate, I have to hold my hands up, they've played a good game. My problem with that is; they have not been upfront about what they are doing and pretending they are something they are not.

Jonny thinks he's a really nice guy, which he tries to press upon us at every opportunity. Maybe he is to a degree. It's CH4's editing which really put me off Jonny, they have shown one side of him, being funny and such a lovely guy, while not balancing that, with the other side to him, his temper, what he's like when he's not drinking, his gossiping with Kate, turning every conversation round to him. They have shown both sides of Alex, tho leaned more towards the time's when he's low, or unhappy.

I didn't really have a problem with Kate, I actually quite liked her, but her behaviour the last week has me baffled.I'm not talking about the comedy duo act with Jonny. It has become more and more apparent that she has used ALL the popular guys to gain support. The first week, she thought Alex would be popular, because of his looks and was all over him like a rash. She then decided Spencer was cool, so went for him instead. Last week she saw she was up for eviction and decided to be all over Alex again, she couldn't do it with PJ as he was up too, or Jonny or TIm as they had girlfriends, tho I dare say if they had been half decent looking, she would have chose them instead. As I say fair play to her she has PLAYED the game well!! Leaves a bad taste in my mouth tho, especially after this weeks nominations.

Since Friday onwards, Kates hardly had the time of day for Alex, this could be because of Jonny and PJ grilling her about Follow the van, but I think it has more to do with her hearing the cheers for Jonny outside on Friday and deciding to hook up with Jonny as she thinks he is more popular.

Also, she's used her friendship with Alex to get info from him. Twice now Alex has had a heart to heart with Kate, only for Kate to immediately relay it onto Jonny.

For Kate and Jade to nominate the same two HM'S in the same order seems very strange to me. There has been some colluding going on there. Did anyone hear Jade ask Kate prior to nominations being announced " If 2 people get 3 nominations and I get 2, does that mean I wont be up for eviction?"! The girl's psychic!!

SORRY, I said a quickie and I've written a book!!

Alex’s allegiance to Sandy, Adele and Tim stems from his own impressionability. Sandy, Adele and Tim have impressed Alex as being intellectually superior (that’s not to say that they necessarily are!), and have tried to portray themselves as being more mature that the other HMs.

I can’t help wondering if this stems from:

a) Alex being used to being treated as a stereotypical model, i.e. eyecandy with no brain;
b) His father, who seems to be very intolerant of anything other than “correct” behaviour.

It’s a shame. Alex has been the single most watchable, self-aware, funny, eccentric and entertaining HM of any of the series. That’s not to say he doesn’t whinge (all the time), get moody, or take himself too seriously (some of the time). But ever since he beat Spanky in the head-to-head, he had BB3 sewn up. I fear his own impressionability and poor judgement has allowed him be manipulated into isolating himself from the other HMs, as a result of which he has become depressed, boring, and bitter.

He may have just become the first HM to throw £70,000 away when it was there for the taking.
