Never underestimate the power of sympathy. The mauling that James got ended up helping him....and there seems to be something of a backlash going against Zoe

The American Smooth was their greatest dance of the series.
How could they leave after that?

I know it's always good to go with a bang, but surely it's better not to go at all?

I can't express in words the bizarre turmoil of emotions that is going on within me at the moment.

If James gets to the final because obsessive women of a certain age are spending all of their money voting for him because he's 'such a nice boy', while people who show true talent are voted out, I will be enormously angry...

I was expecting (have been for two weeks) but I'm very sad for the pair of them. Anton always looks so gutted when he goes out of the comp - it just means so much to him. The fact he nearly couldn't say anything was quite heartbreaking.

And poor Patsy. What a lady with a brilliant generous attitude. People have accused her of not caring enough but I think we can all see that's not true.

A huge thanks to them for providing so many weeks of entertainment. I will never forget that tango. And Anton will be on ITT at least twice next week (he's doing his dance on Friday) and they'll be back in the final.

So I'm off to vote for Colin and Erin then - hopefully Anton can go help them out like he did with Julian last year.

Just as long as James doesn't win - I'd like this competition to be won on talent, not hormones

Anton has been the sole reason for me actually watching Strictly.
His charming manner, bizarre twittering, and matinee-idol looks have, to be perfectly frank, kept me hooked!

I have been taping everything Strictly-related just to keep a stockpile of Anton moments.

Looks like I won't need to buy any more videos now.

How did this happen?
How?
How?
How?

James should not have gone through tonight! And Zoe in the bottom two? What's going on?

Simple, not as many women fancy Patsy as they do James

James was the worst today - he should have gone. His reaction was great though - he knows he wasnt good enough!

I think Zoe doesnt get too many public votes due to the judges overscoring her!

Darren and Lilia to win

i was very near to tears! James was the weaker dancer tonight IMO and should have gone instead of the lovely Patsy and the even lovlier Anton!

*sighs* right, i'm off to sulk until mondays ITT

A terrible result tonight. It was clearly going to be Patsy or James this week or next - but she was SO much better than him this week!

And Zoe coming in lower than James - what's that all about?? He's so . . . mechanical. I know she wasn't at her best this week, but even so . . .

If whining about a bad ankle could keep Bill in, then the same should apply to the flu.

Hope you all noticed James's face tonight - it was a hollow victory, he wasn't at all comfortable with it.

But then you look back on previous weeks and James has really had a much better run than Patsy - he just got unlucky with the samba tonight.

I do think it should be James to leave next week though

This is a most strange and extraordinary day...

I am crying over a television programme.
The last time I did that was at the end of the last series of Dr Who...

But that wasn't so big a deal!

Why are James and Camilla still there? They really dont deserve to be, and I didnt want Patsy to go!
James is so obviosly the worst dancer left and Zoe and Ian have one bad week and they are put in the bottom two and James and Camilla go straight through. MAKES NO SENSE!

Not a total shock. But I have to say it was the wrong result!!

See, witness me being totally unbiased! I'm a James gal!

Anyone else sitting there with a pen and paper trying to work out the audience results??!

I have not spoken out loud for the past twenty minutes, since I started weeping.
