I'm looking for a long cable run to transmit the output of my Xbox 360 (yes i got one on release day ) from one room to another. With my original Xbox, I just used to cart the console from room to room, but the 360 comes with a power adapter the size of a small country which is tucked away behind a cabinet, so I can't really do that anymore. It's not really possible for me to run a scart lead this far I don't think, as the wire is probably a bit thick for the trunking/conduit stuff I've got that it would have to fit in. I remember reading something somewhere one day a while ago, about a scart to network cable adapter, ie/ you plug your scart in, the signal is then carried by the network cable, and then another adapter at the other end changes it back to a scart connection. I can't find any more info about it however, and just wondered if any of the clever buggers on here knew anything. Perhaps I've never heard of such a thing and I'm just fantasising, but I hope not.

I've considered wireless video senders, which I suppose could work, but would prefer the reliability of a cable based solution. If anyone knows anything about this scart to network cable thing, I'd be grateful for any knowledge you can share, as well as any other ideas about how I could achieve my aim. I'm hoping so much that this works out, especially because the wireless controllers for the 360 work from the room where I want to send the signal to.

Thanks in advance.

I think you require a product like the CAT5BLASTER from Keene Electronics.
It also needs an RGB2C or Syncblaster Black Box to convert set top box RGB to correct format for use with CAT5BLASTER.
