Unfortunately with the amount of public support James has there is every possibility that he will at least make the final, if not win. Ok so improvement counts too but to me it didn't look as if he'd improved much since last week unlike some of the others. On the whole he is rather uninspiring. I'd much rather see Darren do well; he actually looks like he's having a laugh. I haven't seen anything interesting in James since the series began.

But that's a very big if. Two weeks ago, Bill almost certainly came top with the public, and Patsy was probably last. Bill definitely beat Patsy by at least two places in the public vote. The following week, Patsy beat Bill in the public vote.

As the numbers go down, people tend to stop "playing favourites" and vote on the dancing - as much as anything because they run out of people they would be happy to see go out. I think there's a very strong public consensus that Zoe, Colin and Darren should be the 3 finalists - outside this forum I've hardly seen anyone think differently. And a lot of those people will be worried about the James effect and therefore voting when they might not otherwise bother.

On the other hand, James was very unlucky having to do the samba at this point - it was always a dance he would struggle with. The rumba should work a lot better for him.

I quite agree as I thought his samba was very wooden and the American Smooth was very disappointing.
Anton and Patsy should have gone through to the Semi Final.
I only hope that James does'nt get through to the final based on viewers votes. As for the final I feel that it should be just the Judges vote and no viewers vote.

Darren CANNOT go, he is MUCH better than James and defiantely my favourite as he seems to really enjoy his dancing so much and him and Lilia are amazing.

James has to go next week, if he does then the three best dancers have made it to the final regardless of over or undermarking along the way and that's the way it should be. However people need to stop voting for James looks and start voting for he way he dances. I think it is his time to go.

You'd like to think that the public have learned from last year and the series before that if you vote for your favourites even though they can't dance we will end up with non-dancers in the final in place of someone who really can dance and I don't want this to happen!

Thanks for all the comments guys. The show may be about improvement but as Bruno pointed out James has hit a plateau and hasn't improved any further in my opinion. This is put into stark relief even more as the others have raised their game (Colin showing the passion he allegedly lacked, Darren working on his arms, Patsy really buckled down and was training hard for her jive, Zoe unfortunately sick this week but did an elegant Smooth). There is just a yawning gulf between the other couples and James.

If James does a Ballroom dance (which he is clearly better at) next week. Then I for one think he REALLY needs to bring it on. Not an average performance, not a competent one, but really needs to tear up the dancefloor to justify going through....or I will be asking all the James fans why they are still voting for him. And I'm sorry the mantra of he's my favourite or being the most improved just won't cut it

If Jam & Cam go out next Saturday, what will we post about?

Unfortunately I do think it a possibilty that James will win. I just hope he doesn't because for me it will act as a big turn off for next year.

Yes, he's come a long way with his dancing, but he just isn't as good as the other three who are left.

Last year I was shocked when Aled went out and Julian stayed in, but at least the right couple won - i.e the best dancers.

I don't think he's more popular than Darren with the public.

Okay, recent poll (after last night's performances) has the following:

Who do you want to win SCD?
Darren - 36%
Zoe - 33%
Colin - 24%
James - 7%

Who is your least favourite on SCD?
James - 34%
Zoe - 29%
Colin - 24%
Darren - 12%

James' popularity has taken a real nose dive - he has always been fairly high up on both those polls before now. Zoe is in most trouble with the public but the likelihood is she will be top with the judges. Darren has good public support. Based upon that it is Colin I fear for...

I only posted that in relation to yesterday's vote. James was bottom with a single point. He wasn't even in the last 2 when it came to the countdown.I've been more than vocal on what I feel about James's dancing, but what he achieved last nite in terms of the public vote was a minor miracle. Darren was relatively safe in 3rd position. So for me right now James is the most popular contestant.

Why shouldnt james win he has got the same chances as everyone eles

I hope not cos he is the weakest performer left. Colin and Zoe have both been better consistantly and Darren has improved considerably more than James since the start.

BUT that is my opinion and when was the last time I got anything right?
