Thank you all for the clarification

Zoe and Ian were very lucky indeed that they were given such high scores from the judges, else they would have definitely been out

Ever since the "scrubber in a puffer jacket" remark that Craig supposedly "didn't" say, he's been trying to be nice to Patsy with every comment, it's been very noticeable how on tenterhooks he's been with her.

I've just watched the whole thing again and have this funny feeling that Bruno is obssessed with Ian not Zoe, one of his comments on Saturday to Zoe and Ian was 'you are beautiful, both of you', I found it funny to give such a comment after a dance and this is certainly not the first time.

Is that possible that all the marks that Bruno gave was based on Ian's and not Zoe's performance, that'd explain all the high marks if he's comparing Ian with other male celebrities.

Much as I like Buno, I have to admit that I'm getting sick of his gushing praise of the look of the performers, rather than the quality of the dance.

I know he's a Westend choreographer: & probably thinks about the theatricality of things more than some of the other judges, but it does get a bit much when ou can predict his reaction to any particular couple.

As Luckyforest has stated, it's the performance of both the celeb & pro he's meant to be judging, not one of them in isoloation.

He; like another of the judges, by his enthusiasm for one couple, is having an adverse effect on the public vote & that is detrimental to them.

As has been pointed out in other threads, the GPB, don't tend to warm to people who are perceived as being the teacher's pets. It's even being reflected on here so it must be affecting the phone voting, just as unfairly.

Shouldn't the headline to this thread read MOST of Bruno's marks are SCANDALOUS!!

The only mark that really annoyed me was the 9 for the cha cha cha. In fairness to her though, I felt that Zoe was shocked by it as well. You could tell by her face that she felt that she didn't deserve it.

I didnt notice Bruno in particular but I always notice the marks dont match the comments ie a fantastic best dance could be a 7 and a little off tonight could be a 9

How could he possibly justify giving Zoe's 'Cha Cha Cha' 9???

In Bruno's world tonight Zoe's 'Cha Cha' was as good as Colin's 'Rhumba' and Patsy's 'Jive' was just 1 mark behind it. Surely this is crazy if you look at the dances on their merits.

This guy has his favourites and displays this bias every week- he clearly loves Patsy and Zoe and overscores them accordingly.

Also, James' and Patsy's 1st dances were both pretty poor tonight but Bruno somehow found a way to give James 5 and Patsy 8. I thought both dances warranted 5 or 6, and certainly not a 3 point difference between the two.

I hope he's embarrassed if/when he watches the show back.”

This kind of marking is so infuriating, I agree! Colin danced to utter perfection on Saturday and the acting and chemistry were amazing and yet... and yet...

I think if Colin were a woman with long legs, he'd have got higher marks with Bruno.

As to whether Bruno would be embarrassed, I'm afraid I think all of the judges believe in their own objectivity - which is actually just subjectivity mixed in with the importance attached to ther positions as judges.

I am not denying their undoubted talent and experience, but the massive inconsistency in their marking denies any claims to objectivity they could ever have made.

Think of how much money we'll raise for Children In Need by trying to correct their marking mistakes!
